Seasoned photographer and musician, Jon Deshler has taken over the Mt Angel Theater & Studio. A unique 3000 sq ft space in a special town, built out by a novel local, his friend – Stu Rasmussen. Deshler once owned and worked out of what is now the Coopers Hall in SE Portland and has for a time been working just outside of the Portland metro area south of Oregon City in the beautiful countryside of the north Willamette Valley. Having collaborated with Rasmussen over the last twelve years on myriad projects, the two became friends and supporters of each others endeavors. LA GRANDE – Eastern Oregon Film Festival invites you to visit La Grande, Oregon for the ninth annual Eastern Oregon Film Festival held October 18-20 in downtown La Grande. The intimate gathering will feature twelve film screening blocks, both feature-length and short format across multiple genres, held at The Granada Theatre and EOFF’s own creative mixed-use space, hq, along with three evenings of after party showcasing emerging musical talent. Eastern Oregon Film Festival is proud to announce its Official Selections for the 2017 Festival. Spread across five venues (including a 48hr. online program at Filmmaker Magazine), EOFF will run October 19-21, 2017 in La Grande, OR.
The festival will open and close with fiction and non-fiction offerings that explore possibilities of the near-future. Opening night will feature Pete Ohs and Andrea Sisson’s gorgeous desert fable, Everything Beautiful Is Far Away.

On Saturday, July 17th at the MAC club in Portland join multiple Grammy and Emmy nominated composer, Ron Jones (“Family Guy”, “Star Trek Next Generation” and many others) will speak about the future of soundtrack composition. Mr. Jones will also speak about the future of music and arts education and the critical role that it plays. Jazz Forest (a world-renowned jazz ensemble) will be performing, along with a live performance by the Oregon Crusaders.
Seaside was shot in Portland and the Coast in April with some great New York actors, including Ariana DeBose (Hamilton), and some wonderful Portland actors, including Jana Lee Hamblin, Haley Talbot, Bob Olin, Victoria Blake, Jennie Vaughn, and Brandt Leeds, all cast by Simon Max Hill.
