“To Die For” & “Kids” Film Set Photo Exhibit

Oregon Film is proud to sponsor an exhibit at Koerner Camera featuring photos from the sets of Gus Van Sant’s “To Die For” and Larry Clark’s “Kids” taken by #OregonMade cinematographer Eric Alan Edwards to celebrate the 30th anniversary of those film’s release.

“Fogtown” Puppet TV Pilot and Videogame to Premiere August 22nd

A new comedic mystery TV series and video game are afoot, each designed to humor, surprise, and rouse mystery fans of all age groups.

The highly anticipated pilot episode of Sherlock Holmes-esque FOGTOWN© premieres 7:00 pm, Thursday August 22nd at a special event in Portland, Ore. hosted by PAMCUT at The Tomorrow Theater. Cast and creators will also take the stage then to describe FOGTOWN’s decade-long journey — from its incarnation to pandemic-influenced transformation along with its breakthrough foray into the gaming world, the latter of which eager attendees of the event will get to experience firsthand. Immersive “Earths to Come” Heads to the Venice Film Festival

The World Premiere of “Earths to Come” will be at the Venice Film Festival, starting August 28, 2024 in the Biennale College Cinema Immersive program, Portland based Director, Rose Bond, and Producer, Melanie Coombs, announced today.

“Earths to Come” is an enveloping work that seeks to heal the last wounds on our post pandemic hearts by exploring the seductive, delicious and destructive nature of Desire. The piece is a collaboration between expanded cinema director, Rose Bond, Grammy® winning vocal band, Roomful of Teeth, lauded composer, inti figgis-vizueta , and Oscar® winning creative producer Melanie Coombs – each pushing at the edges of their prescribed mediums. The Rental Sales Gallery is part of Portland Art Museum, and was founded in 1959 as a nonprofit gallery to give people access to the some of best of our regional artists. We proudly represent almost 200 artists from Oregon and Washington State.

With a total inventory of over 1,000 original artworks, you can be assured that we will have artworks that you will love. Mediums include oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings; wood, metal, and stone sculptures, drawings, collages, photography and framed prints.

Oregon Film Museum Details Expansion Project in Astoria

Last week The Astorian reported on OFM’s new look and expanded size and mission.

The Clatsop County Historical Society has detailed plans to expand the Oregon Film Museum, an estimated $10.1 million project that would involve the construction of a new, two-story, 13,000-square-foot building.

The addition is proposed at Seventh and Duane streets on the site of the former Morris Glass building, a property the historical society acquired several years ago.

Tomorrow Theatre Announces Opening Programming

The Portland Art Museum’s film and new media center, PAM CUT // Center for an Untold Tomorrow, is thrilled to announce the opening of the Tomorrow Theater, a new space devoted to expanding what constitutes cinema, art, and multimedia storytelling. The 250-seat Tomorrow Theater will open its doors to the public on November 3, 2023, with programming designed to inspire and surprise audiences and artists no longer content to be contained to a single medium, label, or art form.

Our professional and peer mentors take the work of making art both seriously and playfully with those with those we support and in our own art practices.

Guillermo del Toro: Crafting Pinocchio – Coming To The Portland Art Museum June 10th

The Portland Art Museum will be hosting the Guillermo del Toro: Crafting Pinocchio exhibit this summer. The exhibit is “a celebration and exploration of the inventiveness, passion and artistic cooperation that goes into making a cinematic vision come to life.” The exhibit started at MoMA in New York and is now opening at the Portland Art Museum on June 10th and will run through September 17th, 2023.
