On Saturday, July 17th at the MAC club in Portland join multiple Grammy and Emmy nominated composer, Ron Jones (“Family Guy”, “Star Trek Next Generation” and many others) will speak about the future of soundtrack composition. Mr. Jones will also speak about the future of music and arts education and the critical role that it plays. Jazz Forest (a world-renowned jazz ensemble) will be performing, along with a live performance by the Oregon Crusaders.
Seaside was shot in Portland and the Coast in April with some great New York actors, including Ariana DeBose (Hamilton), and some wonderful Portland actors, including Jana Lee Hamblin, Haley Talbot, Bob Olin, Victoria Blake, Jennie Vaughn, and Brandt Leeds, all cast by Simon Max Hill.
Portland producer is Alyssa Roehrenbeck, Cinematographer Phil Anderson, and Production Designer Jade Harris. And our composer, Megan Diana McGeorge, is the creator of Portland’s Piano.Push.Play.

How to find, hire and work with a film composer, from the demo process to finished picture. “In honor of the 90th Anniversary of the Hollywood Theatre and the 90th Anniversary of Buster Keaton’s classic film, Buster Keaton’s, “The General”, which was shot in Cottage Grove, OR, the Hollywood Theatre and Oregon Film present a state-wide tour of the film with a new live score composed by renowned Portland film composer Mark Orton. (OPB did a short piece on this project which explores Orton’s thoughts and inspiration behind this project.)
“Thompson’s Mills is a Oregon State Heritage Site in Linn County near the town of Shedd. More than 150 years old, it’s the oldest water-powered grain mill in Oregon, where the waters of Calapooia River drive turbines you can still see running today for demonstrations.
