Multiple Emmy Nominations For “Portlandia”!

 

 

 

The 69th Emmy Awards nominations were again kind to #OregonMade “Portlandia“.  Three nominations were handed down for:

  • Best Variety Sketch Series
  • Outstanding Costume Design for Variety, Non-Fiction or Reality;  (“Carrie Dates a Hunk”).  Nominees; Amanda Needham Costume Designer, Jayme Hansen, Asst. Costume Designer, and Jordan Hamilton, Costume Supervisor
  • Production Design (“Fred’s Cell Phone Company”). Nominees; Schuyler Telleen, Production Designer, and Katherine Isom, Set Decorator

Untitled Alan Ball HBO Drama series is scheduled to shoot in Portland April 24-26; open casting call this Saturday

PORTLAND, ORE. Cast Iron Studios, a Portland-based film and television casting company, announced today that it is seeking general background performers, experienced stand-ins, photo doubles, Portland hipster types, and extras who own vehicles, bicycles and pets for Alan Ball’s new HBO drama series.

The series will shoot scenes in the Portland area April 24-26, 2017.

ShadowMachine’s “BoJack Horseman” Gathers Accolades

Netflix 2015

Netflix’s original animated series, “BoJack Horseman” , (its 4th season, coming this summer)  created by ShadowMachine, has been gathering some accolades.  Nominated this year for an Annie Award for Best General Audience Animated TV/Broadcast Production and Outstanding Achievement in Voice Acting in an Animated TV/Broadcast Production(announced next month) and recently won the Critic’s Choice Award for Best Animated Series (as well as nominations for 2016 Annie and WGA Awards.0

“Brother Nature”, Shot in Klamath Falls, Opened Sept 9th

Lorne Michael’s “Brother Nature” opened September 9th – shot in and around Klamath Falls (down town, Lake of Woods Resort, Keno, among others) for 15 days in the summer of 2014.  The feature brought much financial benefit to local businesses, as well as hiring many Oregon crew.  Starring Taran Killam (“12 Years a Slave”, SNL), Bill Pullman, (“Independance Day”, “Lost Highway”), (Gillian Jacobs “Community”), Bobby Moynihan (SNL, “Inside out” “Sisters”), Rita Wilson (“Sleepless In Seattle”), and Sarah Burns, Ellen Bloodworth, Giancarlo Esposito, Rachael Harris, Kumail Nanjiani, Kenan Thompson and David Wain, and produced by Lorne Michael’s, written by Taran Killam, Mikey Day and Cameron Fay, directed by Matt Villines and Osmany “Oz” Rodriguez. #OregonMadeShows Exhibit Opens At PDX

#OregonMadeShows Exibit

In collaboration with PDXART, and many other partners (please see list below) a new exhibit is up on Concourse E, at the Portland International Airport this week.  The exhibit showcases “vignettes” of artifacts, props and images from just a few of the 400+ feature films & television shows that have utilized Oregon as their production backdrop over the years.  From the early silent era films like “Fisherman’s Bride” (shot in Astoria, 1908), to “Grimm”, the popular NBC television series currently shooting in Portland, Oregon has played an important role in production.
