Members of the Production Industry At PWA NW Youth Careers Expo
Last week saw a strong turnout for the Annual Portland Workforce Alliance NW Youth Careers Expo. Oregon Film asked members of the production community to join us in showcasing an array of production job opportunities that are here in Oregon. With a staggering 5,000 students attending, it was a productive day showing future job possibilities in a hands-on way.

Shot here in Portland, this eco-conscious short film uses comedy to present a strong message about rethinking the nature of our relationship with the natural world.
Created by filmmakers Patrick Gilmore & Paul North, who work with Lindblad Expeditions/National Geographic documenting around the world, both above and below the water, the film ventures to change minds through laughter.
After making his way through another successful Eastern Oregon Film Festival, filmmaker and Eastern Oregon native Ian Clark is taking his most recent project “MMXIII” on a theatrical tour……. online. Ian has made arrangements for several different websites to host his project on their site over the next month. The “tour” actually started last week on the Eastern Oregon Film Festival website and now is on Filmmaker Magazine’s website. In years gone by, Moviemaker Magazine lumped together big city and small town to compete for the sought after title of, “Best Places To Live and Work as a Moviemaker”. This year, the magazine has split their list into three components:
Top Big Cities (they define as more than 50,000 residents)
The new Production Department Building for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Talent, OR, completed construction in late October 2013. On November 19th, OSF Costume Rentals started the monumental task of moving their stock of over 50,000 costume pieces from a rented warehouse in Ashland, OR, their home of almost ten years, six miles down the road to their brand new state of the art facility. The improvements are undeniable, going from about 8,000 square feet to just over 11,000, customized rack systems for hanging costumes, climate control, even floors, a window, the fact that the new facility isn’t a converted lumber mill (the former facility was a space in the old Parson’s Pine mill building)… Continue reading... “Oregon Shakespeare Festival Costume Rentals Moves to New Facility”
Oregon Media Production Association celebrates achievements of commercial, film, TV and interactive media production in Oregon at their annual meeting on Tuesday night.
