In support of the launch of the 2018 Honda HR-V, Northern California Honda dealers partnered with Baker Street and Bent Image Lab to produce four millennial-focused broadcast spots for their “#Adulting” campaign. With this demographic in mind, Bent Director Rob Shaw envisioned a stylized production featuring the functional attributes of the latest Honda line. Portland, OR August 15, 2016: Bent Image Lab, announces their Augmented Reality platform, “youAR”TM, is coming out of stealth mode into alpha testing.
For the last three years, Bent has been developing youARTM along with computer vision technology and systems enabling multiuser, real-time, markerless AR content to be viewed with a single lens smartphone.
Two Oregon companies, LAIKA and Bent Image Lab picked up nominations for the 42nd Annual Annie Awards. (Bent Image Lab garnered a nomination for “Polariffic” (Hallmark) in the Best Animated Special Production category, and Laika’s “The Boxtrolls” picked up 13 nominations, including Best Animated Feature.) Laika was awarded two Annies for Best Production Design and Best Voice Acting (Ben Kingsley as Archibald Snatcher). “The Boxtrolls” is also nominated for Best Animated Feature at the Oscar’s next month. Portland, Or – Animation studio BENT Image Lab conjures up a series of whimsical storybook promos for Cartoon Network’s “Over the Garden Wall”. Directed by BENT’s Solomon Burbridge, the promos bury the viewer deep inside the beautiful CG/stop-motion pages of a forest-woven book, seamlessly transitioning to clips from the show.
“I wanted to take the well worn old trope of ‘from the vaults’ or ‘magic book opening’ and add a new twist to it,” says Burbridge. “The idea of an infinite tunnel book was a great way to further this idea by giving the interior pages dimension and atmosphere. The Portland area visual effects and animation user group, VFX/PDX, has a special program on tap for the upcoming user group meeting on November 15th. A little something called “Short Film Saturday!” It’s been a prolific year for eye-popping short films in the area, and this show promises an in-depth look behind the scenes at the visual effects and other wizardry from this year’s crop. Last week saw a strong turnout for the Annual Portland Workforce Alliance NW Youth Careers Expo. Oregon Film asked members of the production community to join us in showcasing an array of production job opportunities that are here in Oregon. With a staggering 5,000 students attending, it was a productive day showing future job possibilities in a hands-on way.
Bent Image Lab has a new stop motion animated commercial they did for Arrowhead’s new 500ml ReBorn TM bottle called, “Recycling is a Beautiful Thing”. The campaign idea and concept is by Ad Agency Threshold Interactive, produced by Bent Image Lab and directed by Bent’s Solomon Burbridge.
Burbridge says,“The awareness aspect in this spot is really important.
