Last week saw a strong turnout for the Annual Portland Workforce Alliance NW Youth Careers Expo. Oregon Film asked members of the production community to join us in showcasing an array of production job opportunities that are here in Oregon. With a staggering 5,000 students attending, it was a productive day showing future job possibilities in a hands-on way.
When Perry sent me an email letting me know that he had purchased a jet airliner mock up I knew I had to go check it out. While one or two options for filming in an airliner exist, none present an option that is logistically straight forward and simple. Shooting inside a real plane is of course the most realistic but the process is complex. At Oregon Film & Television’sAnnual Meeting last night, we were able to honor some amazing Film Advocates who have been integral to the film and television industry.
Steve Oster (Producer, “Grimm“) announced the Film Advocate Awards that were presented to Derrick Roberson,Sergeant Erin Smith, and Sergeant Peter Simpson by Governor Kitzhaber.
NBC Universal’s series, “Grimm” was honored for it’s environmentally friendly production practices at the 33rd Annual Travel Portland Tourism and Hospitality Industry Awards last week. This award recognizes environmentally friendly business practices that “help sustain Oregon’s exceptional quality of life”.
