TNT has given the green light for a 10 episode order of a new drama series, “The Librarians”, (a follow up to the movie trilogy, “ The Librarian“). Electric Entertainment produced the trilogy, and is also taking on “The Librarians”. TNT and Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment are no strangers to Oregon, having shot all but one season of “Leverage” here. Oregon Film & Television Office thanked Leverage for four great seasons shooting in the Portland Metro area by donating four trees to be planted in metro neighborhoods through the Friends Of Trees non-profit program. Leverage’s Producer, Dean Devlin, was presented with a certificate noting the dates and neighborhoods the trees will be planted by Senator Ginny Burdick (and, naturally, the certificate was printed on 100% recycled, FSC certified paper). Catherine, (Business & Economic Development Manager) and Jamie (Economic Development Coordinator) represent a “best case” example of the cooperation between the needs of the film and media production industry and the community at large. It was just announced that after five great seasons (four in Oregon) “Leverage” is coming to an end on Christmas night. We’ve been so blessed to have four great seasons in Oregon and we look forward to future TNT and Electric Entertainment productions in the future. For now though, we’ll look to enjoy the series finale on Christmas night.

Turner Broadcasting announced today that D.B. Sweeney has been cast to play the lead in Electric Entertainment’s pilot set in Portland titled “Brain Trust”. Here’s the info on the pilot. Dean Devlin will be directing the pilot which is due to shoot in Portland in December for two weeks. We were thrilled to have Electric bring a second project to Oregon and even more excited to hear that they made the decision to re-write this pilot for Portland.
