SOFaT Announces New Board

Southern Oregon Film and Television (SOFaT), Southern Oregon’s media industry trade association, introduced its new board last night at their 2013 Wrap Celebration held at the SOU Digital Media Center in Ashland. Members of the organization were joined by prominent members of local government and business to celebrate a very successful year in film and media production in the region, which included a very high-profile day of shooting for the Reese Witherspoon film WILD.

SOFaT is entering 2014 with a very strong outlook and a renewed approach to marketing Southern Oregon as a filmmaking destination, and installing a new board is a big part of that plan. Continue reading... “SOFaT Announces New Board”

Intertwine Revisited: One on One with Dylan Wayne Lawrence

On May 5, 2013, I got a chance to sit down with the creator behind Intertwine, Dylan Wayne Lawrence, in response to an article I had written earlier with Eastern Oregon University Alumni, Lindsay Freeland, about the T.V. pilot, Intertwine. The following are excerpts from that conversation:

Chuck:  So what’s new with you?  What’s all exciting and new with Dylan Wayne Lawrence?

Dylan:  Well, it’s mostly Intertwine (laughs).  Although I did get cast in a film project shooting in Utah called, “Give Me Children.” Continue reading... “Intertwine Revisited: One on One with Dylan Wayne Lawrence”

(Video was shot by Clackamas Community College Digital Media students)

We blogged recently about the “I Will If You Will” challenge campaign that the World Wildlife Fund and Earth Hour created.  It was a way for them to encourage conversation and positive action for the environment.  Many high profile companies and individuals around the world created their own challenges, including Cylvia Hayes, Oregon’s First Lady. Ms. Hayes agreed to be made-up into a “Wesen” monster (by the special effects make-up artists from the NBC Universal show, “Grimm”) if one thousand people agreed to take a stand against the haunting of the “phantom load” in homes and offices everywhere, by unplugging unused electronics!   Continue reading... “Celebrate Earth Day! Jumpercut Goes To SxSW: Monday

We’ve been having quite a week here at SXSW! It is absolutely insane how DENSE this event is. Everyone taking part in SX is just going about their own business and probably only hitting up about 15% of the events available to badge holders, ourselves included.
On Monday, we split up our 5 man team to cover more ground and go about our networking, promoting, and general experiencing (and capturing) of SXSW. here is a link to our vlog activity: http://d1u7aelnb7b19r.cloudfront.net/21375560-1417-47e0-a91d-1047800db558.mp4 Continue reading... “Jumpercut Goes To SxSW: Monday”
