Native American Entertainment Coalition (NAEC) was formed to fill a “niche” within the Native American entertainment community.

“24 Hour Comic” Premiere delights

24 Hour Comic wowed an audience of fans and VIPs at Portland’s Laurelhurst Theater last night with its “Portland Premier” screening. 24 Hour Comic releases on iTunes and VOD on July 11th, and goes to Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival later this month. All this exposure means great things for Oregon filmmaker Milan Erceg.

“The single most important thing an audience can do to support an independent release at this stage is to buy it,” says Ryan Sage, executive producer of the project.

Bend, A Versatile Filming Location, Now Voted One of America’s “Best Towns” By Outside Magazine

Central Oregon has long been a versatile location for commercials and features, with sweeping high-desert landscapes, rushing white-water rivers, and roads that stretch for miles, and now Outside Magazine has recognized it’s hub, the city of Bend, as one of America’s “Best Towns” to live and work. We couldn’t agree more! Bend is not only a great location, with crew and services to call on, but it is also is a vibrant outdoor playground. The city and surrounding areas have a “film friendly” reputation, with hundreds of viable, stunning locations.

Fullbright’s Long-Awaited “Tacoma” Is Released

The Oregon, independent game developer, Fullbright, has announced that their latest console game, “Tacoma”, has been released on Linux, Microsoft Windows, OS X, and Xbox One, and will be released August 2. This latest game comes as a follow up to their popular, and multi- award-winning game, “Gone Home“ (set in 1990’s Oregon) that became an indie hit.

“Tacoma” takes place in 2088 and is set on a space station of the same name.

#OregonMade Tripgrid Releases Disruptive Travel Planning Software Tailor-Made For The Entertainment Industry

Tripgrid automates a large portion of the trip planning process, saving time while helping teams get completely organized.

“We started working early on with companies who coordinate travel in the production world, we realized it was an intense amount of work and no one was building tools to solve their problems. Tripgrid turned out to be an absolute game-changer for them,” says CEO Jake Hoskins.

With large teams constantly on the road, most production companies employ full-time production coordinators to organize all the travel and logistics by building travel documents and call sheets and storing traveler details.

How Do You “Break In” And Get Your Project Made?

We were recently approached by, Theo Friedman, a University of Oregon business alumnus, with an idea to create a report for the rookie filmmaker that would look at providing some answers to how projects get made. Oregon Film, in conjunction with the University of Oregon’s Film Organization, was able to introduce Friedman to a handful of Oregon filmmaker insiders and once all the information was in, Friedman created his report, that if you are curious you can check out here:

OPIF Tax Credit Auction Coming on July 10th

Portland Art Museum Screening “Shut Up Anthony” – Tonight!

In case you have not seen it, Kyle Eaton‘s “Shut Up Anthony“, is screening tonight at the Portland Art Museum (7pm). The indie comedy has been picking up traction and some nice reviews and recently won a Spirit Award (for Narrative Feature) at the Brooklyn Film Fest. Starring Robert A. D’Esposito (Anthony), and Katie Michels (Sam) and Noelle Eaton (Noelle), produced by David Cress. Oregonian composer, Mark Orton, created the music.(For full cast and crew see here.)
