Grimm” has made Portland home for 7 years, hired around 1,000 people (80 percent of the crew have been local, and about 250 full time crew), spent a little over $55 million each year, and has helped many vendors and support businesses expand in equipment and employees, as well as showcase Portland’s varied locations.  The show leaves behind a honed, skilled crew, and world class vendors and services. “The Librarians” Are Coming Back For Season 4

TNT and Electric Entertainment are bringing “The Librarians” back for another season – the 4th in Oregon!  The show stars; Rebecca Romijin, Christian Kane, Lindy Booth, John Kim, John Larroquette, and series veteran,  Noah Wyle and produced with executive producers Dean DevlinMarc Roskin, and Wyle.

HouseSpecial’s Stop-Motion Short Takes ‘Best Animated Film’ At Oregon Independent Film Festival

Aaron Sorenson, a Director at Portland animation studio HouseSpecial, received the award for Best Animated Film for the stop-motion short Jailbreak during the award ceremony at The Oregon Independent Film Festival (OIFF) held on September 24, 2016 in Portland’s Clinton Street Theater.

Jailbreak, shot in black and white, follows the daring escape of a desperate prisoner fleeing his nightmarish cell in pursuit of sweet punishment.  Written and directed by Sorenson, this short is a German Expressionist-inspired design mash-up of stop motion with a 2D design sensibility … and a decidedly adult twist. “Lean On Pete” Shooting In Oregon

Screen Shot 2016-05-26 at 4.19.44 PMLean On Pete“, Willy Vlautin’s novel, adapted into a screenplay by writer-director, Andrew Haigh (“Looking”)  will film in Oregon this summer.

 “Lean on Pete” tells the story of a 15-year-old boy named Charley Thompson, who, as Vlautin’s website explains, is “left to fend for himself by his wayward single father. Charley wanders to Portland Meadows racetrack one day and finds work with a surly, washed up horse trainer. 2016 OPIF Tax Credit Auction Announced for July 11-15

opif_auction_2016The Oregon Department of Revenue will once again be conducting a tax credit auction for the Oregon Production Investment Fund (OPIF) in July. The auction is open to all Oregon tax payers. The total amount of tax credits to be auctioned this year will be $12 million.

The process will be exactly the same as the successful auction conducted last July. This is the largest amount of tax credits we have had available at one time, so it is a great opportunity for people who may have missed out on the previous auctions. Birds of Neptune to be released on DVD and VOD March 22nd!

Birds of Neptune, by Steven Richter, will be released on DVD and VOD on Amazon on March 22nd, with distribution by Brinkvision.

The film will be available soon after On Demand on Hulu, Google Play, and others to be announced as well as video stores nation wide.

Birds of Neptune was filmed in Portland, Oregon, with an all local cast and crew.

The 2015 OPIF Tax Credit Auction is Currently Underway!

opif-auction-2015The 2015 OPIF Tax Credit Auction began Wednesday July 8 and continues through July 17.

The Oregon Department of Revenue is auctioning $10 million in OPIF tax credits.

Bids can be placed through the online auction at the following link: 

http://www.oregon.gov/dor/PERTAX/Pages/credit-auction-info.aspx

20,000 increments of $500 tax credit certificates are available.  Businesses and individuals with an Oregon income tax liability may bid on the certificates. The credit can be claimed on your 2015 state income tax return. 2015 OPIF Tax Credit Auction Coming Up July 8-17

opif-auction-2015We just wanted to remind everyone that the Oregon Department of Revenue is planning to once again conduct a tax credit auction for the Oregon Production Investment Fund (OPIF) this July.  The total amount of tax credits to be auctioned this year will be $10,000,000.

The process will be exactly the same as the successful auction conducted last July.  We will be working hard to make sure all the tax credits sell out in the designated time frame.  If we are successful in this goal, this will be the only opportunity for people to contribute to the fund and receive OPIF tax credits for 2015. iOPIF to Begin Accepting New Applications May 4th

July 1st will mark the beginning of a new fiscal year and a new round of funding for our film incentive programs. As a result, we are preparing to open up the application process for our “local filmmaker” program, commonly referred to as the Indigenous Oregon Production Investment Fund (iOPIF).
