Last year, Cast Iron Studios and TNT–along with Act Now Studio and Scott Rogers Studios–hosted the first Northwest Talent Diversity Initiative. The 36-hour intensive acting course gave 32 performers of color the opportunity to hone their chops with two of Portland’s finest acting coaches and a myriad of guest speakers, at no cost to the actors.
We are excited to announce that the shot-in-Portland TNT series, “The Librarians“, has been renewed for season 3! “The Librarians” has an average of 5.5 million viewers per episode ( digital, mobile and On Demand viewers).
Welcome back Christian Kane (“Leverage”),Rebecca Romijn (“X-Men”), Noah Wyle (“ER”, “Falling Skies”), Lindy Booth (“The Philanthropist”), John Harlan(“Neighbors”) and John Laroquette (“CSI: NY”).
TNT’s new drama series, “The Librarians”, (a follow up to the movie trilogy, “The Librarian”) delivered 5.4 million viewers for the two hour premiere in December. TNT and Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment are no strangers to Oregon, having shot all but one season of “Leverage” here. Many locations in the Portland metro area, Clackamas county and even the Captiol building in Salem were used in season one.
We know the cat is likely out of the bag but we can now confirm that the upcoming TNT Pilot starring Oscar Winner Geena Davis will be shot here in Oregon. We’re thrilled to have yet another project from TNT and director/producer Dean Devlin. Dean and his team at Electric Entertainment have been instrumental in Oregon’s film and television industry growth over the past few years. Here’s to hoping that this pilot leads to yet another multiple year project much like what “Levereage” was for the past four years! Oregon is featured in more than 500 films, and a project by the state film office is marking movie locations with informational signs.
Baker County has three signs, all dedicated to the 1969 musical “Paint Your Wagon,” which was filmed here in 1968.
The markers can be found outside Baker Heritage Museum, 2480 Grove St., inside the lodge at Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort, and outside the city hall in Richland, once the ground thaws (this one will eventually be placed at Richland’s future playground).
