The local premiere of our debut film, ‘Nightscape’ will screen on Friday, November 16th at 7:30pm and 9:30pm at The Venetian Theater in Hillsboro. The film will also screen on Friday, December 14th at 9:30pm at The Hollywood Theater in Portland as a benefit for the education advocacy organization Stand for Children.
‘Nightscape’ is about an emotionally-guarded drifter who crosses paths with a phantom car responsible for a wave of supernatural violence. HOLLYWOOD THEATRE LAUNCHES NEW FILM EDUCATION PROGRAMS Opens Media Lab, “Hollywood Theatre Studio” at Grant High School
(Portland, OR) September 21, 2011 – This fall, as funding for the arts in schools continues to face significant cuts, the nonprofit Hollywood Theatre is piloting multiple education programs, affording hundreds of young people the opportunity to explore filmmaking and animation.
Showing his continued support of Oregon’s film and television industry, Governor John Kitzhaber issued an official Proclamation today declaring August 17, 2012 “ParaNorman Day”. Below is the language of the proclamation.
WHEREAS:Oregon has a longstanding and honorable tradition of encouraging the entertainment arts and the abundantly talented individuals whose creative work delights, informs and educates our citizens; and
WHEREAS:The handcrafted, stop-motion animated 3d movie “ParaNorman” is the second feature film produced by Oregon-basedanimation studio LAIKA; and
WHEREAS:LAIKA is deeply committed to creating an environment that supports and celebrates the art and artistry of animated filmmaking; and
WHEREAS:The lead character Norman is a young boy of ingenuity, empathy, courage and optimism and thus embodies character traits Oregonians hold most dear; and
WHEREAS:“ParaNorman” was produced entirely in Oregon and will be released nationwide by Focus Features on August 17, 2012;
NOW,
THEREFORE:I, John Kitzhaber, Governor of the State of Oregon, hereby proclaim August 17, 2012 to be
PARANORMAN DAY
in Oregon and encourage all Oregonians to join in this observance.
We are getting closer and closer to ParaNorman’s August 17th premiere, and there are all kinds of exciting things going on around the country and around the net as the anticipation builds. This is a brief run-down of some of the things going on in the next two weeks.

Today the Emmy Nominations were announced and “Portlandia” came away with two big nominations. The show was nominated for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series. Writers Fred Armisen, Carrie Brownstein, Jonathan Kreisel and Karey Dornetto were all listed in the nomination. The show was also recognized for Outstanding Directing in a Variety Series thanks to Jonathan Kreisel’s amazing direction. The episode Jonathan was recognized for was “One Moore Episode” which was voted by the fans as the best episode to date. Portland, OR – May 29, 2012 – Sold out screenings on May 20th made Cell Count the most attended film at the Fantaspoa Fantastic Film Festival in Porto Alegre Brazil.
Writer / Director Todd E. Freeman was at the festival for 10 days and said, “this experience changed my outlook on the worldwide filmmaking community as well as the excitement about Cell Count in International markets.” He went on to say, “Porto Alegre and the Fantaspoa Film Festival welcomed me and our movie with open and excited arms. Devin Stinson and Donald Cobbs, both agree and understand that Portland is such an amazingly unique and diverse city, unlike any other in the nation, and they wanted to create an anthem that highlighted all of those things.
DonaldCobbs came to Portland when he was 7yrs. old. He was here prior to the building of the Memorial Coliseum, during a time where the only sports team that represented Portland, was the Portland Buckaroos.
