Oregon Public Broadcasting TV is devoting a full program slot to the #OregonMade documentary MARDA’S GIFT @ 9:00 PM PACIFIC Monday, May 1.

This film has won many awards including Best Inspirational Documentary and Best Female Director in a Documentary at the Morgana Film Festival. Morgana is an online festival that exists to “help indie filmmakers be seen and let their projects have the spotlight they deserve.” This is in addition to the Best Oregon Film and Finalist, Best Documentary Film awards from the Oregon Short Film Festival. Buffalo Soldiers: Fighting On Two Fronts will be Broadcast Nationally on PBS in June

Buffalo Soldiers: Fighting On Two Fronts will be broadcast nationally on PBS June 12th at 10pm ET and as part of a Juneteenth special for WORLD Channel’s series ‘Local, USA’ on June 19th at 8pm ET.

The iconic Buffalo Soldiers fought on two very different sets of front lines: military conflicts abroad and civil rights struggles at home. Though the 14th Amendment promised citizenship in exchange for enlistment, Black men were denied this right due to Jim Crow laws. The award-winning documentary, Buffalo Soldiers: Fighting on Two Fronts, explores the profound and often contradictory roles played by Black soldiers in the United States military. #OregonMade “Growing Belushi” Launches Third Season April 5

The Southern Oregon shot Discovery series “Growing Belushi” launches its third season on April 5

In its first two seasons, “Growing Belushi” offered viewers a  look at actor and musician Jim Belushi’s southern Oregon cannabis farm, mixing insights into the business with banter between Belushi and his cousin Chris, and hijinks from Belushi’s “According to Jim” castmate, Larry Joe Campbell.

“Growing Belushi” Season 3 premieres at 9 p.m. April 5 on the Discovery channel.

Oregon Film: Who We Are & What We Do (Update 2022)

What has Oregon Film been up to? – After assuring our industry worked so well through the turbulent pandemic period with several projects of all sizes, 2022 started off with a slow down. Needless to say, Oregon is still attractive and a great place to bring your creative production. Recently we worked with the state legislature and partners like the OMPA and the IATSE and SAG-AFTRA unions to increase the film and media cash rebate percentages from 18% to 25%. Historic Jefferson County Courthouse and Jail – Restored and Ready for Your Next Film

 

The Historic Jefferson County Courthouse and Jail in Madras, OR has now been restored and is ready for you to film your next project there. Today, the 6,500-square-foot courthouse features offices on the first floor for a property management company and two law firms. The second floor, which was used for trials and still has its original jury chairs, is open for events like weddings and anniversaries. Outside the courthouse has a landscaped lawn and a gazebo. Southern Oregon’s theDove TV Named NRB Station of the Year

theDove TV has been honored to be selected by the National Religious Broadcasters to be TV Station of The Year for 2022.

NRB has announced the recipients of the 2022 NRB Media & Special Service Awards, which recognize the most outstanding ministries, organizations, and programs/producers in the world’s largest association of Christian communicators.

“It’s our honor to recognize these NRB members for excellence and effectiveness in Christian media and sharing the Gospel,” NRB CEO Troy A. Miller said. “We look forward to presenting these awards in March at NRB 2022.”

#OregonMade “Chad” Premieres April 6th On TBS

This new eight-episode TBS comedy follows a 14-year-old pubescent Persian boy (SNL’s Nasim Pedrad) navigating the freshman year of high school on a mission to become popular. “Chad” shot the first season in Portland partially during the Covid pandemic.  Read more from Oregon Live.

18th Season Of “Top Chef” Set In Portland & Also Featuring Other Oregon Locations – Premieres April 1st!

The popular Bravo series, “Top Chef”, is based in Portland for its 18th season. The show that was filmed last fall is set to celebrate Oregon’s varied and acclaimed culinary scene by also visiting the Tillamook coast, the Columbia River Gorge, and the Tualatin and Willamette Valley wine country.
