Celebrating #OregonMadeShows

animal-house-of-blues-33-3-posterI first heard about the #OregonMade trademark at the Portland International Airport while viewing actual artifacts from several films shot in Oregon on display.

Now the Oregon Film Museum is stepping out and celebrating ‘Animal House’ with a huge party in Portland on October 30th, 2016. And the local communities, who hold their own local celebrations, are stepping up to support the Oregon Film Museum too.

“Brother Nature”, Shot in Klamath Falls, Opened Sept 9th

The small town of Brownsville, Oregon celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the classic movie “Stand By Me” on Saturday July 23, 2016.

In 1985 Brownsville was turned into a town named Castle Rock and was teaming with film crews, actors and all the excitement of the movie making process. On August 8, 1986 the movie had a limited release at 16 theaters around the country. Today, 30 years later, the fans are more passionate than ever before and yearn to visit the locations of their favorite movie and mingle with others who are just as passionate. We stock mostly used so we have a lot of interesting oddities, but the basics of our business are shelving units, showcases, clothing racks, cash counters, mannequins, display forms – everything you need to make a store look like a store.

The majority of our revenue comes from selling fixtures to retail establishments, and most of our rentals are to clothiers, jewelry designers, and other retailers who just need a rack or a mannequin for a one-day event like a convention or a festival. 30th Anniversary of Stand By Me Was Huge Success

Pipeworks Triples Studio Space In Eugene

Screen Shot 2016-02-10 at 3.51.15 PM The Register-Guard reports that, indie game designer, Pipeworks, is expanding, and has tripled its studio space by buying out the $2.5 million building it has been leasing.  Pipeworks has added 15,000 square feet to it’s operation, and has almost doubled it’s workforce to around 75 employees since 2014. Revolution Film Group Signs Multiple Picture Deal

Portland based Revolution Film Group, LLC, a division of Hydra Entertainment has just signed finance and distribution deals with Chasing Butterflies Pictures and Origin Releasing for the production of six features in 2016. The multi-picture deal, brokered at the American Film Market in Santa Monica, California, this past November, represents a nearly $4 million investment in original Oregon productions. Some of the films will be co-produced by Oregon based Justice Pictures for the faith market.
