Revolution Film Group Signs Multiple Picture Deal

Portland based Revolution Film Group, LLC, a division of Hydra Entertainment has just signed finance and distribution deals with Chasing Butterflies Pictures and Origin Releasing for the production of six features in 2016. The multi-picture deal, brokered at the American Film Market in Santa Monica, California, this past November, represents a nearly $4 million investment in original Oregon productions. Some of the films will be co-produced by Oregon based Justice Pictures for the faith market.

Fox12’s Highlights Two More Locals In Their “More Movies” Series

Fox12’s “More” series has been focussing on “More Movies” and has recently highlighted two more local business owners, 360 Labs and Greg McMickle.

Amazon Aquires Elemental Technolgies

Elemental Technologies, Inc., one of Portland’s fastest growing tech companies, announced today that they have joined forces with Amazon Web Services, Inc.  According to CEO, Sam Blackman, the acquisition will enable Elemental to “accelerate the development and adoption of (our) software-defined video platform”.  Elemental specializes in “high-speed video encoding and transcoding software” that can “provide multiscreen content delivery to audiences on any screen or device”.  Their headquarters are based in Portland, with offices in the UK, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore. Sasha Roiz (“Grimm”) Appointed To Doernbecher Foundation Board Of Directors

Actor Sasha Roiz (Captain Sean Renard, “Grimm”) has held an interest in helping patients at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital for several years since coming to Portland to shoot the NBC Universal series.  Earlier this year Roiz put together the “Grimm Gives Back” fundraiser, that incredibly, raised $310,000 that was then donated to the “Grimmster Endowment Fund”. The 2015 OPIF Tax Credit Auction is Currently Underway!

opif-auction-2015The 2015 OPIF Tax Credit Auction began Wednesday July 8 and continues through July 17.

The Oregon Department of Revenue is auctioning $10 million in OPIF tax credits.

Bids can be placed through the online auction at the following link: 

http://www.oregon.gov/dor/PERTAX/Pages/credit-auction-info.aspx

20,000 increments of $500 tax credit certificates are available.  Businesses and individuals with an Oregon income tax liability may bid on the certificates. The credit can be claimed on your 2015 state income tax return. 2015 OPIF Tax Credit Auction Coming Up July 8-17

opif-auction-2015We just wanted to remind everyone that the Oregon Department of Revenue is planning to once again conduct a tax credit auction for the Oregon Production Investment Fund (OPIF) this July.  The total amount of tax credits to be auctioned this year will be $10,000,000.

The process will be exactly the same as the successful auction conducted last July.  We will be working hard to make sure all the tax credits sell out in the designated time frame.  If we are successful in this goal, this will be the only opportunity for people to contribute to the fund and receive OPIF tax credits for 2015. Oregon Story Board’s 2015 Accelerator Class Is Announced


 

Oregon Story Board announced today the the eight new companies who will be part of the second accelerator class, and the first occupants of their new space in Portland’s Old Town (Old Town Lofts at 411 NW Flanders.)

These companies represent the mix of film, video, animation, visual effects, digital media, and gaming industries that make up Oregon’s digital storytelling ecosystem.
