The #OregonMade Netflix series, Trinkets, (based on Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith‘s young adult novel) starring, Brianna Hildebrand (Deadpool, Tragedy Girls), Kiana Madeira (The Flash, Sacred Lies) and Quintessa Swindell will stream June 14th. New Stop-Motion Independent Film celebrating the iconic Oregon wolf named Journey

The short film Nowheres Wolf: A Call Not Answered is inspired by the life of Oregon’s famous wolf named Journey, aka OR-7. The film is mid-production and starting to take off, hitting some heartfelt points in the film and animation industry including developing non-toxic building materials for artists and makers as well as advocating for local wildlife.

In an interview with Oregon Wild, Nowheres Wolf creator Suzanne Moulton shared “I’m a big believer in “Think Globally, Act Locally” so I’ve focused on inspiring people to take small actions at home that can make a big difference in whether a local species dies or thrives. Oregon Film: Who We Are and What We Do (Update 2019)

Film CommissionThis has become something of a tradition, at least in our minds. As we come to the end of another fiscal year, we want to take a moment and reflect on some of the things we have been able to accomplish during the past year and hopefully come up with some improvements for the next.

The Real Cost of a Sub-$800 Oregon-Made 30-Minute Independent Dark Comedy

 

As I typed the first lines of our script, I knew there would be challenges beyond the technical but didn’t care. After leaving a six-year marriage & suffering from an annihilated heart as well as all the near-death experiences — imagined & real — that accompany rediscovering oneself at 35, there wasn’t much else to lose. I committed to sharing the cinematic dream at all costs. In terms of money, it cost somewhere around $800.

The Portland Circuit Presents #OregonMade Feature Film Debut: “Phoenix, Oregon”

The OregonMade Creative Foundation has teamed up with four of the best independent cinemas located in all four of the quadrants of Portland, The Northwest Film Center, The Hollywood Theatre, Clinton Street Theater and Cinema 21, to announce the second installment of The Portland Circuit, a program designed to give locally produced, #OregonMade feature length films a short theatrical distribution window in the city. Screenings consist of a four day run, with one night at each theatre, in the four “quadrants” of Portland. Yes, that most iconic of #OregonMade films is back as Goonies Never Say Die and this time we’re watching it as it was meant to be seen – on 35mm film. This screening is both to celebrate and support the new Historic Oregon Film Trail and its official kick-off in January in Astoria recognizing “Kindergarten Cop,” “Short Circuit,” and, yes, “The Goonies.” There’s a lot more signs and a lot more films for us all to celebrate and we hope you will join us for this one. Ninth Annual Eastern Oregon Film Festival Celebrate Film, Music, And Community

LA GRANDE – Eastern Oregon Film Festival invites you to visit La Grande, Oregon for the ninth annual Eastern Oregon Film Festival held October 18-20 in downtown La Grande. The Ashland Independent Film Festival is expanding its year-round programming with a new series, Best of the Fests, which will offer audiences a second chance to see some of the best and most requested films from the most recent AIFF, along with other films generating excitement on the film festival circuit. The series will launch with a “Best of the Fests Weekend” September 21-23 at the Varsity Theatre in Ashland and the Collaborative Theatre Project in Medford and continue with screenings at Eugene’s Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art in October and November. Oregon’s International Bohemian Film Festival Announces ‘Big Sonia’ as Grand Prize Winner

The winning filmmaker, Leah Warshawski and her Oregon-raised animator, Dawn Norton, received a $3,000 grand prize as the Best Film. The winner aims to take the proceeds to launch high school curricula about overcoming the obstacles of our past and becoming stronger.

COTTAGE GROVE, ORE., 18 AUGUST 2018 – “Big Sonia” won the overall $3,000 Grand Prize at this weekend’s inaugural Bohemian Film Festival.
