“Night Moves” To Get A May 30th Release

“Night Moves” will be opening May 30th at the Angelika Film Center in New York, most likely followed by openings in Los Angeles and Portland before playing other cities nationwide.

The film will also be screening in advance of the release date, at the Tribeca Film Festival (April 21st, 24th and 27th), as well as at a few other U.S. festivals.

VFX/PDX User Group Meeting Today – W+K, Mocha & Nuke!

Heads up that VFX/PDX, the local visual effects artist user group, has a meeting on tap for today (April 17) featuring David Jahns of Joint Editorial, Wieden and Kennedy’s in-house post production facility.  He’ll be showing off the editing software Smoke from Autodesk and his workflow for the great work coming out of Joint.

Also we have Mary Poplin from Imagineer flying in to demo the popular tracking software Mocha, which won a Sci-Tech Oscar last year and is nothing short of amazing.

OPB Nominated For 21 NW Regional Emmy Awards

OPB has collected 21 nominations for the NW Regional Emmy Awards 2014 from the Northwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.  OPB’s local TV productions, and individual staff, have been recognized for their work in many categories, (historical and cultural segments, environmental programming and specials, as well as documentaries, arts & entertainment features, individual writing, producer and reporting honors) as well as an overall  “Station Excellence” award.  You can read the nominations breakdown here.

2014 OPIF Tax Credit Auction Announced for July 9-18

We wanted to let you know of the Oregon Department of Revenue’s plans to conduct a tax credit auction for the Oregon Production Investment Fund (OPIF) in July.  The total amount of tax credits to be auctioned will be $10,000,000.  This is the largest amount that we have had available to date, so it will be a good opportunity for people to be able take advantage of the tax credits.  The process will be exactly the same as the successful auction conducted last October.
