“LESSONS LEARNED” The Next Generation of Henson and Froud to Premier Puppet Film at Hollywood Theatre

We are excited to announce the June 21st premiere of an Oregon made puppet film from Toby Froud and Heather Henson.  Toby Froud is a sculptor, fabricator, puppeteer and filmmaker based in Hillsboro, Oregon.  His love of puppets began at a very young age after playing Toby the baby abducted by David Bowie’s Goblin King in the Henson classic Labyrinth.

Toby, the son of renowned artists/designers Brian and Wendy Froud (Dark Crystal and Labyrinth), has partnered with Heather Henson, Jim Henson’s daughter, to brings new magic to the world of characters and creatures familiar and beloved by fans of their parents’ work.

The OPIF Tax Credit Auction is Currently Underway!

The 2014 OPIF Tax Credit Auction began Wednesday July 9 and continues through July 18.

The Oregon Department of Revenue is auctioning $10 million in OPIF tax credits.  This is the largest amount of tax credits we have auctioned off at a single time, so it is a great opportunity for more people to be able to have successful bids.


Bids can be placed through the online auction at the following link:

20,000 increments of $500 tax credit certificates are available.

Go “Back O’er Oregon” On State Park Day, June 7th

Screen Shot 2014-06-05 at 1.21.07 PM June 7th is a celebration for Oregon’s huge array of state parks.  State Park Day is offering free camping and day use as way to thank the public and  welcome use of these beautiful areas.

You can catch a glimpse of Oregon’s many state parks on the “Back O’er Oregon” music video that Slater Smith and his band The Weather Machine  debuted last year on Rainn Wilson’s website Soul Pancake.  The project was a creative collaboration between Oregon Parks and Recreation and the Governor’s Office of Film and Television.

Klik! Amsterdam Animation Festival in Portland

Klik_logo-300x216Klik, Amsterdam’s favorite animation festival, concludes their historic first-ever US tour with a stop in Portland. Join Klikkers Tünde Vollenbroek and Mathijs Stegink, and Dutch animation director Joost Lieuwma (Things You’d Better Not Mix Up, Leaving Home) at the Hollywood Theatre for two special screenings on June 1st:

7pm: DUTCH DELIGHTS is a Klik-curated overview of contemporary animation in the Netherlands, proudly presenting striking animated shorts and groundbreaking works. This program is family friendly.

9pm: Best of Klik! The best of the fest, featuring award-winning films from around the world.

Hinge Digital Provides Animation Services for Community G.I Joe Episode

Hinge Digital was tapped by SBI Media to provide animation services for NBC’s much anticipated animated episode of Community. The live-action sitcom, now in it’s 5th season, is no stranger to animation – having produced several experimental episodes including a stop-motion Christmas episode and one in the style of an 8-bit video game. SBI Producer, Trever Stewart says “with Portland’s rich animation history and Hinge Digital’s reputation for providing world-class animation, it was truly a convenience to have such a resource so close to Los Angeles.”
