MetroEast Community Media Reaches 1000th Episode Milestone of Flagship Program Community Hotline

 This June, MetroEast Community Media’s staff-produced program, Community Hotline, will achieve a landmark. They will be making history on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, when they will tape the 1,000th episode of Community Hotline.

Started in 1996, Community Hotline is the longest running community affairs television show in Oregon and has been on the air for over 20 years. While it has undergone several significant changes in staffing, set design and distribution, it has held tight to the fundamental core of the programming, which is to inform and highlight community events, people and stories. DIY Workshops at NW Documentary

DIY Documentary is NW Documentary’s flagship course: a 10-week journey to create a short film from start to finish. We welcome students ages 15 and up with all levels experience to tell a story that is meaningful to them, expressing their personal vision and style using the latest digital tools. Supplementary Editing coursework (Premiere or Final Cut X) and Camera/Lighting courses support the DIY student in achieving their vision. Governor Brown Dedicates Grove Of Trees To #ThankYouGrimm!

This afternoon, Governor Kate Brown joined members of the “Grimm” cast and crew along with the City of Portland, State of Oregon elected officials, and representatives from  Oregon Film, Friends of Trees, Friends of Pier Park and Comcast/NBC. They all came together to plant a small grove of trees in beautiful Pier Park, North Portland, creating a lasting tribute to the work and the legacy of the long running show.
