2nd Pacific Northwest Lens Summit – Largest In The Country
Koerner Camera Systems, based out of Portland, Oregon hosted their 2nd annual Pacific Northwest Lens Summit this month. This the largest trade show in the country that specializes in motion picture camera lenses. About 250 people came to see lenses, filters, FIZ controllers and focusing aids, anamorphics and adapters, gimbals, cameras, and camera robots presented by thirty different exhibitors.

DIY Workshops at NW Documentary
DIY Documentary is NW Documentary’s flagship course: a 10-week journey to create a short film from start to finish. We welcome students ages 15 and up with all levels experience to tell a story that is meaningful to them, expressing their personal vision and style using the latest digital tools. Supplementary Editing coursework (Premiere or Final Cut X) and Camera/Lighting courses support the DIY student in achieving their vision. Productions Give Back with Film Shadow Program
As we bid farewell to “Grimm” and welcome both “The Librarians” and “Portlandia” back for their next seasons this coming Spring and Summer – we wanted to share a very special program we were able to put together last summer with the help of the producers of these shows, Open Signal, the City of Portland and NBC/Universal.

Inspire homeless and marginalized youth with your knowledge and expertise. Outside the Frame seeks local Cinematographers, Sound Mixers, Gaffers, Editors, Composers, Animators, and other film industry professionals to join for our pool of paid mentors. Full and half day workshops sessions or post production work available.
Outside the Frame changes how homeless and marginalized youth see and are seen through film. We offer intensive film workshops and weekly programming where participants learn film making from pre-production to broadcast and create original films as a group.
