Eastern Oregon Film Festival* curator Ian Clark will be hosting the screenings, featuring virtual or in-person visits with the cast and crew. We also will be offering a small selection of beer and snacks.
DIY Documentary is NW Documentary’s flagship course: a 10-week journey to create a short film from start to finish. We welcome students ages 15 and up with all levels experience to tell a story that is meaningful to them, expressing their personal vision and style using the latest digital tools. Supplementary Editing coursework (Premiere or Final Cut X) and Camera/Lighting courses support the DIY student in achieving their vision. Description: Entering its 7th year, Recording Resilience is a partnership between NW Documentary and the Dougy Center. This program serves teens who have tragically lost a loved one, by empowering them to create powerful video tributes about the person they lost. In the 5-day program, each student will write, narrate, and edit their own tribute documentary, using photos, music, and even original art.
This intensive program is filled with tears and laughter, bravery, sadness, healing. Each year, NW Documentary assembles a team of professional filmmakers, who have both the skills to help guide teens in the filmmaking process, as well as the empathy and courage to work one-on-one with inspiring teens. This position will split time between work for NW Documentary Arts & Media and their in -house projects and working with the resident filmmaker of the Indie Doc Incubator program.

NW Documentary seeks a Development Associate to direct fundraising and development activities to sustain, grow, and enhance the organization. Reporting to and in partnership with the Founding Artistic Director, the Development Associate will spearhead development efforts as NW Documentary continues to grow. This is an excellent opportunity for an outgoing fundraiser with strong grant-writing skills who wants to be directly involved in the growth and success of a small media arts non-profit.
Key Duties:
Designs, implements and manages all fundraising activities including annual giving, grant writing, and building membership
Develops and maintains relationships with donors, local businesses, and NW Documentary’s growing community
Manages all strategies and activities for donor cultivation, solicitation, and relations; including researching prospective donors
Researches, maintains contact with, and develops grant proposals for grant organizations, foundations, and corporations
Manages and plans fundraising events focused on engaging, educating, and inspiring donors
Work closely with the Board of Directors and Resource Council to attract new Board and Council members and to coordinate projects with current members
Works with Operations Manager to updates contact information and grant opportunities in Salesforce.com
