OMPA to host networking event with “Isle of Dogs” Production Designer

Oregon Media Production Association Mixer with Paul HarrodJoin Oregon Media Production Association on August 28 for an exciting evening immersed in the local production scene!

Portland-based production designer Paul Harrod will kick things off with a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Wes Anderson’s new stop-motion film, Isle of Dogs. We’ll get to see how the director’s distinct artistic sensibilities informed every step of the process, from design through fabrication, and ultimately shooting and performance.

#OregonMade Animation Apprenticeship Now Open for Applications

Together with award-winning animation studio ShadowMachine, the #OregonMade Creative Foundation has just launched a unique paid apprenticeship program focusing on hands-on, stop-motion animation production work.

ShadowMachine is about to go into production on a stop-motion series and we have worked together to create two, three month, paid apprenticeship positions on the project.

HouseSpecial’s ‘Jailbreak’ Takes Best Picture at the We Like ‘Em Short Film Festival

HouseSpecial took home the award for Best Picture at the We Like ‘Em Short Film Festival held on August 17-20, 2017 in Baker City, Oregon. Aaron Sorenson wrote and directed the winning stop-motion film, Jailbreak, which was shot in black and white. The story follows the daring escape of a desperate prisoner fleeing his nightmarish cell in pursuit of sweet punishment. The design is German Expressionist-inspired, but with a decidedly adult twist.
