What has Oregon Film been up to? – After assuring our industry worked so well through the turbulent pandemic period with several projects of all sizes, 2022 started off with a slow down. Needless to say, Oregon is still attractive and a great place to bring your creative production. Recently we worked with the state legislature and partners like the OMPA and the IATSE and SAG-AFTRA unions to increase the film and media cash rebate percentages from 18% to 25%. Oregon Documentary Camp is a program of NW Documentary that is crafted with working documentary filmmakers in mind.

And this year there are TWO ways to participate:

1) Everyone can join us for DOC CAMP ONLINE for a full day of online programming on Friday, May 13th.

The cost to attend is $50, and Registration opens on April 1st. Learn more.

2) Filmmakers can apply to attend DOC CAMP LAB, a 3-day event that expands upon our online programming by offering an in-person experience for up to 24 filmmakers from May 11-13th in Portland, OR.

Oregon native Andrew Jacob Brown, an actor/producer with Confound Productions, has just released “Family First,” their 3rd Independent feature film on Amazon!

“Family First” was the Marshall family motto until a wife was murdered and a daughter disappeared. After months of searching, Keeno Marshall returns home to find his brothers lost in the world of underground gambling and sports betting. When he discovers who may have kidnapped his daughter, Keeno moves mountains to try to find her, and not even his brothers can stand in his way.

City of Canby officials with the newest sign on the Oregon Film Trail.

The City of Canby’s Eco Park was added to the Oregon Film Trail and commemorated with a community dedication. NBC’s “Grimm” was filmed in the city’s Eco Park in early 2014. The public celebration was held on Friday, October 29^th right in beautiful Eco Park. Canby City’s Economic Development Department assisted production crews to identify a location by providing access to the park and found parking to store trailers, equipment, and crew facilities. “Lorelei” stars Pablo Schreiber (Den of Thieves, Orange is the New Black, The Wire) and Jena Malone (The Hunger Games, The Neon Demon, Inherent Vice), along with a cast of local actors cast by Simon Max Hill, including Amelia Borgerding, Parker Pascoe-Sheppard and Chancellor Perry (three upcoming child actors) who make their acting debuts in the movie. The Oregon Confluence featured Perry last year about his experience on the film.

Ashland, Oregon – The Ashland Independent Film Festival is excited to announce the full selection of musical and cinematic events scheduled for its live & outdoor festival running June 24-28 at venues in Ashland and Medford.

At Scienceworks Hands-On Museum, viewers will watch films projected on a large outdoor screen in the field facing the building. At the Walkabout Brewing Company in Medford, viewers will fill the spacious backyard, facing the big screen and stage. Each screening at these two venues will be accompanied by live musical performers, food carts and beverages.
