In this week’s video (above), the Oregon Film Summer Interns visit Cambridge Precision Machining in Tigard Oregon.

Cambridge Precision Machining recently experienced a 20% increase in revenue due to work manufacturing the tiny joints and parts of the armature skeletons for LAIKA’s stop-motion animated feature “ParaNorman.” Based on referrals, they are now getting additional work from as far away as Great Britain.

The Great NW Film Tour is a new series geared toward independent releases, kicking off at McMenamins Mission Theater on Saturday, May 19

In a partnership with the Oregon Media Production Association (OMPA), McMenamins presents The Great Northwest Film Tour, giving new films a place to be shown, gather momentum and burst out onto the scene. Portland, Oregon – February 15, 2012 – The Portland Oregon Women’s Film Festival (a.k.a. POWFest) is excited to announce the programming highlights of our upcoming 5th Anniversary festival scheduled to take place March 8 – 11, 2012 at the Hollywood Theatre.

The new seats have been installed in the main auditorium of the Hollywood Theatre! We’ve also repainted, and replaced the curtains in the theater. These changes are in addition to our new sound system and new screen. A huge thanks to everyone who supported our seat campaign! We never could have accomplished this without you.

We’re extremely excited, and we have some great films and events in the next few days to experience in this auditorium:

This year the University of Oregon’s media team was able to record the annual meeting and now it’s available here.  If you have a Mac you’ll first need to download the flip for Mac Application which can be found here.  One quick note – we ran a 15 minute pre-show of clips prior to the meeting beginning and that is on the front end of the video.  If you’re interested in knowing what the clips are –

A nice review in The New York Times for the holiday special, “Jingle All The Way”.  Bent Image Lab, a Portland, Oregon company, produced this 22 minute animated short for the Hallmark Channel over a six month period.  It is set to premier this Friday 25th.
