The Hollywood Theatre, Portland’s historic nonprofit theatre, is in dire need of a new marquee. The current marquee is crumbling and leaking through the roof, slowly damaging the beautiful façade. To raise the remaining money to replace it, the theatre has kicked off a campaign on the crowd-funding website, Kickstarter.

The new seats have been installed in the main auditorium of the Hollywood Theatre! We’ve also repainted, and replaced the curtains in the theater. These changes are in addition to our new sound system and new screen. A huge thanks to everyone who supported our seat campaign! We never could have accomplished this without you.

In a bold move to increase the comfort level of thousands of patrons in Portland, Oregon, the Hollywood Theatre is rolling out an aggressive, new ergonomic stimulus package called “Creature Comforts”.
The Hollywood Theatre, long recognized as a historic landmark in the centrally located Hollywood neighborhood of Portland, is the recent beneficiary of ergonomic stimulus aid from Regal Cinemas, a national movie theatre chain, in the form of 600 “gently used” seats for its three auditoriums.

BridgePort Brewing Company, Oregon’s oldest craft brewery, is proud to announce this year’s “Sound and Vision Fest” taking place at the Hollywood Theatre to benefit restoration projects at the 85 year-old Portland landmark.
The festival was created to showcase new or existing collaborations between musicians and filmmakers, exploring how the moving image informs musical performance and vice versa. Each night of the festival will be curated by a different local artist and will feature a mixture of film screenings and live music from favorite local bands. New mission statement: The Hollywood Theatre is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to entertain, inspire, educate and connect the community through the art of film while preserving a historic Portland landmark.
