Independent Feature, “The A-List” Wraps

“The A List”, On Location In Beaverton

We stopped by the set last week on the penultimate day of shooting for “The A-List“, an independent comedy feature  about a high school senior who is “coerced by his guidance counselor into fulfilling a list of all of her high school fantasies in order for him to graduate”.  This is a first feature to be produced for writer D.J. Halferty and produced by; Ian Rao, Brett Cranford, Matthew Karchesky, Kevin Callies and directed by Will Bigham.

Nike Brings You the “ParaNorman” Shoe #weirdwins

You all know the connection between LAIKA and Nike so it’s no great surprise the Nike has released a “ParaNorman” shoe tied to the release of the film.   Regardless this is pretty cool!  We found the news in this morning’s Portland Business Journal but the gallery showing the shoe can be found here on examiner.com

According to this website – there are 800 pairs of these shoes up for grabs if you submit a “weird” picture of yourself on twitter.

ParaNorman in Theaters on August 17 – We’ll Be There. What About You?

After two plus years hand crafting frame by frame, Oregon based animation studio LAIKA is set to debut their second film “ParaNorman” in theaters this coming Friday.  We at the Oregon Film Office will be at the Regal Lloyd Center theaters with a block of tickets  to celebrate the release.  In fact we hope to see you there at 11:50 AM for the first showing!  An opening weekend of any feature film often determines the financial success of the film so let’s all find a way to make it to a nearby theater and see this great Oregon Film.

Diablokemon! A short video made by OSU Students

Diablokemon is the 3rd video by rizenvisual a YouTube channel run by 4 OSU students. It combines the popular video game Diablo 3 by throwing it’s characters into a Pokemon-like battle. The video is full of references to both games with a plentiful amount of eye candy too!

NW Documentary’s Film “Summer Snapshot” to Screen in Hollywood, CA

SUMMER SNAPSHOT, produced by NW Documentary, and directed by Emmy Award winning filmmaker Ian McCluskey will be screening at the 8th annual HollyShorts Film Festival, which takes place August 9-16 at Grauman’s Chinese 6 in Hollywood.
