PORTLAND, OR (November 12, 2012) – Road trip based travel and culture show GO! NW will premiere this November on KOIN 6. Dynamic and visually engaging, GO! NW utilizes creativity and high production values to provide a forum for honest and compelling story telling. It will air weekly on Sundays at 5:00pm PST, beginning November 18.

Every week, host Leif Hansen will travel the Pacific Northwest in his 1968 solar/electric hybrid VW Bus collecting stories that showcase the unique personality of the region.

Second Half of 2012 is Booming With Indie Film Production in Oregon

Oregon has always been known as a great place for the independent film scene, and 2012 is no exception.  Since July, there have been four independent films that have been accepted as a part of the Indigenous Oregon Production Investment Fund which was created in 2009. Eastern Oregon Film Festival October Updates

Last year around this time Eastern Oregon Film Festival volunteers were working hard on final printing of programs and media in anticipation of last years event — this year – we are just stepping into the great things coming for EOFF in 2013. The fourth annual event will be held February 28th thru March 2, 2013 in La Grande, Oregon. So Eastern Oregon – take this coming weekend and visit Bend Film Festival instead.

“Why I Love Tryon Creek” Video Contest – Submissions Accepted through October 31st, 2012

The Friends of Tryon Creek are holding a video contest on the theme “Why I Love Tryon Creek State Natural Area” to promote Tryon Creek and the importance of connecting to the natural world. The contest is open to the public and a prize package valued at $370 featuring items from contest sponsors Columbia Sportswear, REI, Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery, and Voodoo Doughnut will be awarded to the winner.

As we continually look for ways to connect people to this special place, the idea of a video contest seemed like a great way to include new voices in the mix and reinforce the community’s overwhelming commitment to Tryon Creek”, said David Cohen, Executive Director for the Friends.

If Trever Stewart runs into a room and says to you, “Quick, play dead.” You might just unthinkingly throw yourself on the ground and imagine that there are big, black Xs covering your eye sockets.

He’s that persuasive.

And, since moving to Portland from Los Angeles, Mr. Stewart (Associate Producer of Special Projects, Bent Image Labs) has learned to use his impressive powers for good, specifically, for the good of local animation.

Filmmakers begin to move film and television production up to the Pacific Northwest.

Portland, Ore. – Portland, Oregon is rapidly becoming the next production capital of the west thanks to the hit television show Portlandia, which debuted on the Independent Film Channel last January.

The wildly popular show, set to debut its second season in January 2012, stars comedians Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein. Armisen, best known as a returning cast member of Saturday Night Live and Brownstein, a former band member of Portland-based Sleater Kinney, first grabbed viewers attention when the six-episode series aired earlier this year. Eastern Oregon Film Festival Releases Music Program for October’s 3rd Annual Festival
