Golf, croquet and a great party are on the table for the Oregon Media Production Association’s annual tournament and fundraiser next Friday, July 11. Mt. Hood serves as the backdrop for this full day of fun, sportsmanship and stewardship of Oregon’s burgeoning media production field. The event is sponsored by production houses and vendors to Oregon’s thriving media production industry, including title sponsor Zarr Studios.
Applications are now open for the 2014 Oregon Story Board accelerator program. Interested companies need to have their applications in by July 15th, 2014.

The Oregon-made feature film, The Discoverers, starring Oscar and Emmy nominee Griffin Dunne will have its Pacific Northwest premiere at the Regal Fox Tower in Portland on June 20. Writer/director Justin Schwarz will attend the 7pm show for a Q&A with his Portland-based crew. The film will expand to Salem, Eugene, Sisters, Ashland and more cities throughout the summer. We are excited to announce the June 21st premiere of an Oregon made puppet film from Toby Froud and Heather Henson. Toby Froud is a sculptor, fabricator, puppeteer and filmmaker based in Hillsboro, Oregon. His love of puppets began at a very young age after playing Toby the baby abducted by David Bowie’s Goblin King in the Henson classic Labyrinth.
The2014 OPIF Tax Credit Auction began Wednesday July 9 and continues through July 18.
The Oregon Department of Revenue is auctioning $10 million in OPIF tax credits. This is the largest amount of tax credits we have auctioned off at a single time, so it is a great opportunity for more people to be able to have successful bids.

We wanted to let you know of the Oregon Department of Revenue’s plans to conduct a tax credit auction for the Oregon Production Investment Fund (OPIF) in July. The total amount of tax credits to be auctioned will be $10,000,000. This is the largest amount that we have had available to date, so it will be a good opportunity for people to be able take advantage of the tax credits. As we near July and the beginning of a new fiscal year, we are preparing to open up the application process for our “local filmmaker” program, commonly referred to as the Indigenous Oregon Production Investment Fund (iOPIF).
We will begin accepting iOPIF applications on May 5th, 2014. Our iOPIF Advisory Committee will evaluate all applications submitted between May 5th and May 9th as having been submitted at the same time.
