As we near July and the beginning of a new fiscal year, we are preparing to open up the application process for our “local filmmaker” program, commonly referred to as the Indigenous Oregon Production Investment Fund (iOPIF).
We will begin accepting iOPIF applications on May 5th, 2014. Our iOPIF Advisory Committee will evaluate all applications submitted between May 5th and May 9th as having been submitted at the same time. Last week saw a strong turnout for the Annual Portland Workforce Alliance NW Youth Careers Expo. Oregon Film asked members of the production community to join us in showcasing an array of production job opportunities that are here in Oregon. With a staggering 5,000 students attending, it was a productive day showing future job possibilities in a hands-on way.
Juliana Lukasik, producer, director, and owner of @Large Films has been appointed by Governor John Kitzhaber to serve on the Governor’s Office of Film and Television board. Juliana’s term will begin on March 1, 2014.

Oregon Media Production Association celebrates achievements of commercial, film, TV and interactive media production in Oregon at their annual meeting on Tuesday night. Producers Irl Davis and Randolph Sellars are proud to announce the upcoming release of “Polly, The Mystery of Bonney Canyon,” the highest production value book trailer ever produced. Book trailers are still relatively new as a media form. Unfortunately, the bulk of them have been made at a glaringly low production quality with cheap graphics, animated stills, and cheesy music.
