If you’re a member of the creative class overflowing Portland’s bar scene, bike lanes and barista joints, you might want to take note of an event taking place later this month.
Portland creatives with an eye for film will converge in downtown Portland as part of Documentary Weekend. The event bills itself as an opportunity for people interested in film and documentaries – producers, actors, editors, directors, and film crews but also people with no experience at all – to meet form teams, then create a five-minute documentary in less than 30 hours. Central Oregon Hosts Feature Film, "The Wait"
The Wait, a drama, written and directed by Oregonian, M.Blash (Lying), and starring Chloe Sevigny (Lying, Big Love, Boys Don’t Cry) , Luke Grimes (Brothers & Sisters) and Jena Malone (Lying, Into The Wild, Pride and Prejudice) was shot entirely on location in Central Oregon, specifically Black Butte Ranch as well as Sisters. La Grande Summer Film Project: Community Filmmaking Opportunity
Eastern Oregon Film Festival in conjunction with Crossing the Blues: La Grande Summer Festival is pleased to present the 3rd annual La Grande Summer Film Project. The project will kick off on Friday August 13th, with a Night Life social event at White House Coffee (1702 Fourth Street). Teams will be identified, organized, and specific criteria for their film will be given. After the participants have had a chance to “schmooze”, ACTION will be called at 9:00pm – and the filmmakers have 48 hours to deliver their final project. The “Leverage” gang has to be one of the most Twitter savy groups out there.
