Eastern Oregon Film Festival in conjunction with Crossing the Blues: La Grande Summer Festival is pleased to present the 3rd annual La Grande Summer Film Project. The project will kick off on Friday August 13th, with a Night Life social event at White House Coffee (1702 Fourth Street). Teams will be identified, organized, and specific criteria for their film will be given. After the participants have had a chance to “schmooze”, ACTION will be called at 9:00pm – and the filmmakers have 48 hours to deliver their final project.
PROJECT 2010 THEME: HELLO?
Each independently made short film will begin and end with a phone call. How can a phone call begin a story? How can a phone call end a story? That is the challenge! More criteria will be released at the kick-off including Genre, Featured Locations, and maybe wild card of some sort!
The premiere of the short films will be after the MAIN ACT MUSIC (about 10:00 pm) at the Crossing the Blues: La Grande Summer Festival. The opening is tentatively scheduled to be an outdoor screening downtown La Grande on Depot Street over or around the stage and in reach of the beer garden.
The saturday to follow will have the films available on rotation for festival goers to stop in, have a beer, and preview the project.
FILMMAKING TEAMS –
We are looking for a minimum of 10 dedicated teams of 3 to be the backbone for this years project. If you are interested in heading up a team you MUST BE dedicated to the 48 hours of filmmaking. A final product will be in your hands! These teams will act as the directing body for each short film. Teams should try to acquire their own equipment as resources will be limited. We encourage out-of-the-area filmmakers to join us. Accommodations available!
TALENT POOL –
Participate in one or many of the short films. If you cannot commit to the 48 hours please plan to participate as an actor, grip, writer, craft services engineer 🙂 or whatever. Get you name on the email list and plan to attend the kick-off event. You will have a chance to meet the filmmaking teams, discuss scheduling, and how you can participate!
Become a sponsoring location and have your business or location featured in one of the teams films. Filmmakers will be required to feature your location for a minimum of 1 minute in their film. Sponsoring locations will also receive an official LGSFP2010 T-Shirt, recognition on this website, social networks, and printed materials. We ask for a $50.00 Sponsorship to be accepted as a sponsoring location. This money will go to promote and grow this great community project. More info/questions email [email protected]. We will only accept 10 locations so it is by a “first give, first get” basis.
