The Daedalus Project, The Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s annual fundraiser to end the spread of HIV/AIDS, is thrilled to launch its first-ever film festival on August 16-18 at The Varsity Theatre on Main Street in Ashland.
The Daedalus Film Fest, produced in partnership with the Ashland Independent Film Festival and Coming Attractions Theatres, includes a slate of 5 bold, original, award-winning documentaries about the ongoing global HIV/AIDS crisis.

From Portland, Oregon, a local group of filmmakers have come together to launch a kickstarter campaign for, “Reality Check,” a science fiction short film about an insurance company with a monopoly on time travel. On Monday July 8, the 2013 Oregon Legislative session wrapped up, and it has proven to be a landmark legislative session. On Monday morning the House concurred with the amendments the Senate passed for HB 3367 over the weekend resulting in an increase annual allocation for the Oregon Production Investment Fund tax credit. The allocation in OPIF will go from $6million a year to $10million a year. Other important legislation that will positively affect Oregon’s film, television, and digital media industry includes HB 5028 which allows the Oregon Innovation Council to fund the Oregon Story Board, and SB 836 which exempts film, tv and theartical hair, and make-up professionals from certain cosmetology regulations.
