ASIFA Portland proudly announces Shorts3, an afternoon of animation with Portland legends Joan Gratz, Marilyn Zornado, and Jim Blashfield, hosted by Dennis Nyback.

On July 24, at 1pm, at Cinema 21, we’ll be viewing new and recent works from these ground-breaking and award-winning artists, with audience Q/A and discussion. This event is free to members of ASIFA, $5 general admission.

First Look at Polluted Pictures “Cell Count”

The Eastern Oregon Film Festival is slated for October 20, 21, & 22 this year, right here in downtown La Grande, Oregon.  If you missed last year’s event, or only got a small taste, be on the up and up to get info on participation in this years festival.

Eastern Oregon Film Festival has just launched a new website and are now accepting submission for films.  Early bird-discount runs through the 16th so get you final cut wrapped up and get your film submitted.

Breckenridge Festival of Film recognizes local filmmaker’s doc ‘Patrick’s Story’


Another Oregon documentary is making waves on the film-festival circuit.

Martin Vavra’s doc “Patrick’s Story” has been accepted into Colorado’s Breckenridge Festival of Film.

“Patrick’s Story” follows a gay man, Patrick, who was removed from a Portland hospital as his partner lay dying.

After 5 Months of Filming, Eastern Oregon University’s First Feature-Length Film Now Enters the Editing Stage.

The cast and crew of EOU’s first feature-length film called it a wrap after five months of intensive and involved filming. The Glass Menagerie, a 92-minute movie based on the famous play by Tennessee Williams and adapted into a film by Professor April Curtis, is now ready for the final concentrated effort of computer technology, voice-over work and musical theme music composed by Biology Professor John Rinehart. “John Gets Wasted” Coming to Hollywood Theatre

Local comedy “John Gets Wasted” will debut at the Hollywood Theatre on May 28th at 7:00pm. The movie follows the story of a man who lost his job in the recession. Deciding his straight-laced behavior did him no good at all, John launches on a journey of vice and bad decisions. At the end of the day, will he find a new outlook on life, or will he just get wasted?

Corvallis Oregon Great Locations, Talent, and Crews

Recently Sean Brown a Corvallis based Director made a demo scene from a novel called “Reality Crash” by Cyd Ropp and Lou Grantt, in hopes of getting the film made into a feature.

While gathering all the needed expertise to work on the project Sean found that Corvallis had more then enough talent to make the production a great one.

BridgePort Brewing Presents Sound + Vision Fest at Hollywood Theatre

BridgePort Brewing Company, Oregon’s oldest craft brewery, is proud to announce this year’s “Sound and Vision Fest” taking place at the Hollywood Theatre to benefit restoration projects at the 85 year-old Portland landmark.

The festival was created to showcase new or existing collaborations between musicians and filmmakers, exploring how the moving image informs musical performance and vice versa. Each night of the festival will be curated by a different local artist and will feature a mixture of film screenings and live music from favorite local bands.
