May 24, 2018 – From world-renowned animation studio HouseSpecial and Director Kirk Kelley comes Armor del Amor – a scripted nature ‘documentary’ that follows the mating rituals of Dasypus novemcinctus, to discover the dark underbelly of modern mammalian dating.
The narrative follows a nine-banded female armadillo as she emerges from her burrow and into the lonely Texas landscape. For your consideration – a NW documentary from Seattle based filmmaker Jeff Unay that explores the dramatic “real life Rocky” struggle of Seattle MMA fighter Joe Carman. A rare Portland screening brings this well reviewed and well traveled doco (which saw theatrical release after making the rounds at the Bend Film Fest among others) to the NW Film Center/Whitsell auditorium, May 10th at 7pm. Games are set up for anyone to play, and we invite artists to come draw fan art of the projects on display. All artists (or non-artists!) are encouraged to make game-inspired art.

Together with award-winning animation studio ShadowMachine, the #OregonMade Creative Foundation has just launched a unique paid apprenticeship program focusing on hands-on, stop-motion animation production work.
ShadowMachine is about to go into production on a stop-motion series and we have worked together to create two, three month, paid apprenticeship positions on the project.
