One of PIGSquad’s biggest annual events! Drink N’ Draw has grown from a small gathering at local pubs into an evening of locally-made games and art during Design Week Portland.
Games are set up for anyone to play, and we invite artists to come draw fan art of the projects on display. All artists (or non-artists!) are encouraged to make game-inspired art.
AEPDX, 3DPDX and VFX/PDX are joining forces to bring you a huge double event for Design Week Portland 2016.
Alphabest is an invitational collaborative show where local individuals or teams of talented animators & video artists make a creation (15 – 60 seconds long) based on a word that begins with a randomly assigned letter from the alphabet. The 26 created pieces will be assembled for an amazing presentation.
Reel Review 2016 will be a showcase of the best reels of local talent in motion, 3d and vfx.
Award-winning motion graphics and design house, Cardboard Castle, proudly presents an evening of wonder featuring an immersive video installation inspired by the ethereal beauty of the deep sea.
Infusing digital animation with the ghostly movements of underwater creatures, viewers will float through a vivid ocean dreamscape buoyed on an ambient musical score.
Animators from Cardboard Castle will be on hand to discuss the exhibit and answer any questions from guests. This will be a casual and informative event designed to provide the local community with a window into the creative process at Cardboard Castle. Design Week Portland kicks off next week coming up Oct 9-13th, to showcase all the diversity and talent within the City of Roses. The densely scheduled exhibition of Portland design talent—visual, film, fashion, furniture, letterpress, architecture, and beyond—has galvanized the creative masses in Portland to fling open their doors, network their asses off, and generally show off.
