Besetment”, an indie-produced feature film from Barbed Wire Films, will have it’s first public premiere on Sunday October 30th at the Volcanic Theater Pub in Bend, OR at 6pm.

Filmed in Mitchell, Prineville, Ashland, and Bend, OR, the film tells the tale of Amanda Millard, a down-on-her-luck girl, desperate to find a job.  When she gets a call from the Oregon Hotel in Mitchell, things start to look up. Mildred Colvin, the owner of the Oregon Hotel is a kind lady, and her live-in son and local mechanic Billy, though a little slow, seems quite taken with Amanda. The OPB Independent Film Festival is this August

The OPB Independent Film Festival airs weeknights at 10 p.m., starting August 10.

OPB is celebrating the power of independent films with the OPB Independent Film Festival all month long on OPB TV.

Each weeknight at 10 p.m. from August 10-24, enjoy a documentary film from the POV and Independent Lens libraries. The festival wraps up with the annual OPB series Oregon Lens from August 24-28, which showcases the diverse work of local filmmakers.

TNT and Electrics’, “The Librarians” Opened Strong

TNT’s new drama series, “The Librarians”, (a follow up to the movie trilogy, “The Librarian”) delivered 5.4 million viewers for the two hour premiere in December. TNT and Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment are no strangers to Oregon, having shot all but one season of “Leverage” here.  Many locations in the Portland metro area, Clackamas county and even the Captiol building in Salem were used in season one.

WILD Contest Has Oregon Covered

Fox Searchlight unveiled the #LifeisWILD contest this week as a headliner in promoting Reese Witherspoon‘s WILD.  Oregon Film was approached by Fox Searchlight to help put this contest together as an interactive and creative way to bring attention to the movie, and in so doing, the Pacific Crest Trail, and Oregon simultaneously.  Oregon Film collaborated with Travel Oregon to pull together a fantastic Grand Prize package of a week long trip to Oregon for the winner and a friend.  Continue reading... “WILD Contest Has Oregon Covered”

Governor’s Office of Film & TV Has New Executive Director

The Oregon Governor’s Office of Film & Television Board announced today the appointment of Tim Williams as Executive Director. Williams comes to the job after a lengthy search by the Oregon Film Board and plans to officially start in Oregon Film’s Portland office by October 1st.

Previously based in London and New York, and now living in Los Angeles, Williams has a long history in film and TV production and finance throughout the US and internationally. He recently worked for Fox Searchlight during preparations for their upcoming film “Wild” – which shot on more locations throughout Oregon than any other feature film. Fox Searchlight’s “Wild” Premieres In Telluride

The 41st Telluride Film Festival announced it’s lineup today. Fox Searchlight Picture’s “Wild” will be premiering at the festival.  “Wild” starring Reese Witherspoon, and produced by her production company, Pacific Standard, shot in more locations throughout Oregon than any other project filmed in the state to date.  From southern Oregon; Crater Lake and Ashland; to the Badlands, Smith Rock and Bend in Central Oregon; and also the Portland metro area, Timberline and Bridge of The Gods in the Columbia River Gorge, to name a few.  Continue reading... “Fox Searchlight’s “Wild” Premieres In Telluride”
