“Grimm” Honored with Environmental Award

NBC Universal’s series, “Grimm” was honored for it’s environmentally friendly production practices at the 33rd Annual Travel Portland Tourism and Hospitality Industry Awards last week.  This award recognizes environmentally friendly business practices that “help sustain Oregon’s exceptional quality of life”.

Paris loves Portland (and its TV shows)

In case you hadn’t heard, there was a 10 day festival celebrating Portland’s arts, culture and music scene recently and Portland Monthly has a great recap here.  Travel Portland was there selling the city as a great destination and when Laura Guimond was in the Paris metro she saw this poster.  Pretty cool huh?

Lot’s of Good Oregon Film and Television Available this Weekend


We’ve been highlighting mostly the fine Oregon based television work that has been airing recently but this weekend not only is there “Grimm” and “Portlandia” but the feature film “Gone” produced by Lakeshore Entertainment premieres in theaters this weekend.  Harold Phillips’ blog Oregon Film And TV Dollars put up a good post about the film yesterday.  He also found a great clip from star Amanda Seyfried’s appearance on Jay Leno where she brought Voodoo Donuts to the show.  Here’s the clip with her raving about Voodoo and Portland. All Three Oregon Produced Shows Airing New Episdoes this Weekend!

Are you ready for a weekend full of Oregon produced Television?  Starting tonight on IFC “Portlandia” airs episode 2 of its second season.  Tonight’s episode includes guest stars Jeff Goldblum, Edward James Olmos, Eddie Vedder, and even an Eddie Vedder tatoo.  I had the chance to see the episode early and I have to say that the Portland Allergy Pride Parade is hilarious!  Season 2 got off to a great start last week and the ratings were greatly improved from Season 1. Governor Kitzhaber presented the Oregon Governor’s Award for Green Leadership to PlyVeneer Products, (for the development of ScenicPly in collaboration with EcoScenic) on Monday night at the Film Office’s public Annual Meeting in Portland.  Reading the details of the award was First Lady of Oregon, Cylvia Hayes.  (Cylvia  is also founder of 3E Strategies, a consulting firm and green product development company.) “Grimm” Gets a Full Season Order – And a Shot at Thursday Night

News came out late on Monday that the Portland based NBC drama “Grimm” has been picked up for a full season order with another nine episodes.  The news was picked up and spread through Twitter but it looks like the original announcement came on the Entertainment Weekly Site here.

NBC Entertainment President Robert Greenblatt said

“This series is turning the traditional procedural drama on its head and is attracting a loyal following for us on Friday nights. We love where it’s going creatively and we’re excited to deliver more episodes to our audience.”

Grimm Doesn’t Just Look Green Because Of The Weather….

We could not have been happier when NBC Universal contacted us to collaborate on their greening efforts for the series, Grimm.  We immediately recognized this particular show as a good match and unique opportunity to put the foundation of our previous work in identifying green vendors and services to good use.

Sneak Peak of “Grimm” – Cast describes pleasure of filming in Portland

In today’s People website, there is a good video sneak peak of “Grimm”.  Most of the cast is interviewed about the show.  Towards the end of the video the cast talks about the experience of filming in Portland.  Even though they are beginning to experience the pleasure of the rain coming back into the Northwest, the cast seems to be enjoying the experience.  Be sure to check out the video here. NBC Introduces “Grimm” to Television Critics Association

Grimm‘s been accumulating more and more positive word-of-mouth since it’s debut at Comic-Con in July and NBC took the opportunity to formally introduce the show to the Television Critics Association Monday afternoon along with the rest of its fall lineup. So far, the critics have plenty of good things to say.

Matt Roush from TV Guide says that, “NBC’s quirkiest fall show is unquestionably the fairy-tale-inspired Grimm.” Walt Belcher from The Tampa Tribune agrees, calling Grimm a potential “dark horse” of the fall TV season. Continue reading... “NBC Introduces “Grimm” to Television Critics Association”
