Portland, Or – Animation studio BENT Image Lab conjures up a series of whimsical storybook promos for Cartoon Network’s “Over the Garden Wall”. Directed by BENT’s Solomon Burbridge, the promos bury the viewer deep inside the beautiful CG/stop-motion pages of a forest-woven book, seamlessly transitioning to clips from the show.

“I wanted to take the well worn old trope of ‘from the vaults’ or ‘magic book opening’ and add a new twist to it,” says Burbridge. “The idea of an infinite tunnel book was a great way to further this idea by giving the interior pages dimension and atmosphere. Fox Searchlight unveiled the #LifeisWILD contest this week as a headliner in promoting Reese Witherspoon‘s WILD. Oregon Film was approached by Fox Searchlight to help put this contest together as an interactive and creative way to bring attention to the movie, and in so doing, the Pacific Crest Trail, and Oregon simultaneously. Oregon Film collaborated with Travel Oregon to pull together a fantastic Grand Prize package of a week long trip to Oregon for the winner and a friend. Portland Opera & OMSI Film Series “Opera on Screen”

Portland Opera and the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) have launched “Opera on Screen,” a series of high-definition film screenings featuring recent productions from the San Francisco Opera. The series opened on September 5th with Puccini’s Madame Butterfly and Mozart’s Don Giovanni and continues with Puccini’s La Rondine, and Samson and Delilah by Camille Saint-Saëns.

Bill Pullman (“Independence Day”, “While You Were Sleeping”) and Rita Wilson (“Jingle All The Way”, “Runaway Bride”) are currently starring in “Brother In Laws” (working title) shooting in and around Klamath Falls this month and next. Downtown Klamath Falls, a rural cabin, and Lake of Woods are some of a number of locations being used. Line Producer, Jenny Hinkey, told NBC 2 News, that she expects at least $700,000 will be spent in the local economy. Hinkey said, “In a very brief amount of time we can have a have a great impact on an area, and it’s a lot of fun for the community”. Congratulations Nathan Cherrington and his wife, Lisa, The Governators, who trounced all comers at the 5-hour croquet tournament of the OMPA Classic powered by Zarr Studios. The Governators, representing the Oregon Governor’s Office of Film and Television, upset Barefoot Bullseyes Signa Cheney and Curtis Kidwell of Bullseye Disc, who were in fact as barefoot as they advertised. The OPIF Tax Credit Auction is Currently Underway!

The 2014 OPIF Tax Credit Auction began Wednesday July 9 and continues through July 18.

The Oregon Department of Revenue is auctioning $10 million in OPIF tax credits. This is the largest amount of tax credits we have auctioned off at a single time, so it is a great opportunity for more people to be able to have successful bids.
