Intertwine Revisited: One on One with Dylan Wayne Lawrence

On May 5, 2013, I got a chance to sit down with the creator behind Intertwine, Dylan Wayne Lawrence, in response to an article I had written earlier with Eastern Oregon University Alumni, Lindsay Freeland, about the T.V. pilot, Intertwine. The following are excerpts from that conversation:

Chuck:  So what’s new with you?  What’s all exciting and new with Dylan Wayne Lawrence?

Dylan:  Well, it’s mostly Intertwine (laughs).  Although I did get cast in a film project shooting in Utah called, “Give Me Children.”

Portland (and Oregon) Film Industry Featured in this Month’s Alaska Air Mag

Freelance Writer Eric Gold put together a great piece on our film and TV industry for Alaska/Horizon Air’s June issue.  The article features interviews from location manager Roger Faires, Portland Film Office’s Shelley Midthun, Bent Image Lab’s Ray DiCarlo, “Portlandia” producer David Cress, Cast Iron Studio’s Lana Veenker, and Oregon Film Office’s Vince Porter.  It’s a pretty nice article!  We couldn’t have paid for that kind of coverage in the mag.  If you’re flying Alaska or Horizon this month, be sure to read it or

A recent (March 2013) opinion by the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals (covering the West Coast and many of the Western states) provides an excellent analysis of U.S. copyright law and the “fair use” defense, often misunderstood by filmmakers and users of copyright protected content.
