Clackamas Community College Partners with Portland Film Festival

andy Portland Film Festival (September 1st – 7^th, 2015) is partnering with Clackamas Community College’s (CCC) Digital Media Communications (DMC) program for the 2015 festival season.

Led by director Andy Mingo, the DMC program has the led the state in film production experience in Oregon for its students. It is the only higher education program with state-of-the-art tools including Oculus Rift Virtual Reality devices and digital cinema cameras, like those used in locally produced, “Wild,” with Reese Witherspoon.

Brian Lindstrom’s new film “Mothering Inside” follows inmate moms and their children in the Family Preservation Project at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville. It shows at Cinema 21 in NW Portland on this Thursday, Feb. 19 at 7p.

IFP Independent Filmmaker Labs Open for Submissions

IFP is currently seeking first-time filmmakers with features in post-production (rough assembly through fine cut) for this year’s Independent Filmmaker Labs. Deadlines to submit are March 6 for the Documentary Labs and April 3 for the Narrative Labs.

For the 2015 Portland International Film Festival, Cinema Project brings a program of international short works that delve into personal, familial, and cultural pasts through a variety of formats and modes of experimentation. The memories evoked—explicitly in voice over or implicitly through texture and tone—are both fresh and distant, revealing the difficulty in going back to, or moving between, physical and psychic spaces.

“GRIMM” Gives Back – Makes 310K For OHSU’s Doernbecher Children’s Hospital

The Grimm Gala took place February 7th at the Exchange Ballroom as a benefit for OHSU’s Doernbecher Children’s hospital. A whopping 310,000 was donated to the “Grimmster Endowment“fund (the goal was $100,000). Many items from the show were auctioned off, and even a walk on role on “Grimm” was offered.
