“I Don’t Feel At Home In This World Anymore” Takes Grand Jury Award At Sundance

“I Don’t Feel At Home In This World Anymore“, Macon Blair‘s directorial debut and produced by Oregonian, Neil Kopp, were honored with Sundance‘s top award, the Grand Jury prize in the US Dramatic Competition over the week end.

Macon Blair has a history in Oregon, as he starred-in, and co-produced, also with, Neil Kopp, another #OregonMade project, “Green Room“. “I Don’t Feel At Home In This World Anymore”, shot in Oregon last spring.

“Grimm” Gala Raises Over $800K For Doernbecher’s At Final Gala

Over the weekend, “Grimm” NBCUniversal, Comcast, and Nike brought together cast, crew and attendees for the final time, to raise money for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Foundation. Within 3 hours, over $800,000 was raised from the gala’s auction of unique items, and props, from the show that has called Portland their home for 7 years and 6 seasons.

This means, to date the Grimmster Endowment has raised more than $1.4 million for the children and their families at Doernbecher.

Tracks all project activity from preproduction through delivery of masters across CG, Stop-Motion and Mixed Media animation projects and Live Action shoots.
Maintains and updates crew lists.
Communicates scheduling information with freelance and staff artists, including specific instructions from directors and producers.

TNT and Electric Entertainment are bringing “The Librarians” back for another season – the 4th in Oregon! The show stars; Rebecca Romijin, Christian Kane, Lindy Booth, John Kim, John Larroquette, and series veteran, Noah Wyle and produced with executive producers Dean Devlin, Marc Roskin, and Wyle.

LAIKA’s “Kubo And The Two Strings” Receives Two Oscar Nominations!

The 2017 Academy Award nominations are out! Among them are two nominations for LAIKA‘s #OregonMade “Kubo And The Two Strings” – Animated Feature, and Visual Effects!

“Kubo” joined; “Moana”, “My Life as a Zucchini”, “The Red Turtle”, “Zootopia” in the Animated Feature category, and “Deepwater Horizon”, “Doctor Strange”, “Jungle Book” and “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” in the Visual Effects category. Should “Kubo” win each category, Travis Knight and Arianne Sutner would accept for Best Animated Feature, and Steve Emerson ,Oliver Jones, Brian McLean,Brad Schiff would accept for Best Visual Effects.

“Displaced,” running Jan 20 to 28 at Portland’s Abbey Arts in Portsmouth as part of the Fertile Ground Festival, is an innovative documentary theatre experience that gives us a new and powerful way to connect with the phenomenon of homelessness and the extraordinary value of those who see us, even though we have forgotten that they exist. A solo show by actor, musician, and dialect guru Eliza Jane Schneider, “Displaced” uses interviews from her travels around the world busking and interviewing people living homeless in New Zealand, Liverpool, Dublin, Hong Kong, Lagos, San Diego, and Seattle.

“Wie is di Mol” Showcases Oregon

The Dutch version of the reality show, “The Mole” showcases virtually the whole state in it’s splendor. The Dutch show shot throughout Oregon last spring, and just begun airing to Dutch viewers over the week end. Read more on this story the Oregonian.

ShadowMachine’s “BoJack Horseman” Gathers Accolades

Netflix’s original animated series, “BoJack Horseman” , (its 4th season, coming this summer) created by ShadowMachine, has been gathering some accolades. Nominated this year for an Annie Award for Best General Audience Animated TV/Broadcast Production and Outstanding Achievement in Voice Acting in an Animated TV/Broadcast Production(announced next month) and recently won the Critic’s Choice Award for Best Animated Series (as well as nominations for 2016 Annie and WGA Awards.0

The show is created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg, and stars Will Arnett as the title character, Amy Sedaris, and Alison Brie, and is animated by ShadowMachine.

Goodbye To “Grimm” – Last Season Premiering Tomorrow Night on NBC

Tomorrow night sees “Grimm“‘s last season premiere – we will all be sad to say goodbye to the show’s quirky and murky portrayal of Portland’s fictitious underbelly, the real city locations, the Wesen, the Police precinct, and the many character actors and stars alike. Six seasons, seven years in the making, and well over 100 episodes later, “Grimm” is set to come to an end, but it leaves behind a healthy and successful legacy of collaboration between the city, NBC, the many crew members, special effects houses, extras, and literally hundreds of local services and vendors.
