“Portlandia” Wins WGA Award for Best Comedy/Variety Program

On Sunday at this year’s WGA awards IFC’s “Portlandia” won a WGA award for best Comedy/Variety Series.  By most accounts this was an upset for the show as the other nominees included six time winner “Saturday Night Live”, “Conan”, “The Daily Show”, “The Colbert Report”, “Jimmy Kimmel”, and “Real Time with Bill Maher”.  The show continues to grow both audience and acclaim.  The season 3 premiere of the show was up 30% from season 2 and the web companion to the show Kumail Tours Portlandia has been a nice surprise on IFC’s website. Missed Our Annual Meeting Tuesday Night? Well Here it is on Vimeo

[vimeo]http://vimeo.com/57712104[/vimeo]

We were truly blown away by the amount of people that showed up on Tuesday and honestly not prepared for the possibility of filling the theater.  I hear we had to turn away nearly a hundred people in Portland.  Luckily the team that provided the video services for the night at PSU (thank you Brian) recorded the event.  We did not have permission to provide all the clips that were shown Tuesday night but if you want to hear what everyone had to say watch it here on Vimeo. Happy Holidays from Limbo Films!

My what a busy year 2012 turned out to be! We produced spots for Mead Notebooks, Ikea, Intel, Kent State University, Cadet Heating, Leatherman Tools, and the Portland Trail Blazers.

Once the creatives at New York agency Ryan Partners gave Limbo Films the green light on a national spot for Five Star/Mead Notebooks our first task was setting the excellent trainers from Boones Animals in Hollywood to work. For 2 weeks prior to our Santa Monica based shoot they trained 4 hero and 4 back-up pooches to do the tricks required by the script and all their work paid off. Cast and Crew of @NBCGrimm Give Back at Oregon Food Bank

With very little fanfare the cast and crew of the NBC series “Grimm” spent their weekend working two shifts at two different locations of the Oregon Food Bank packaging 24,139 pounds of food resulting in 15,259 meals for Oregonians in need.  The effort was largely organized by local film workers Bruce Lawson and Dawnn Pavlonnis, but in total there were over 30 volunteers representing members of IATSE, SAG/AFTRA, DGA, and the Teamsters looking to give a little back to the community.  Continue reading... “Cast and Crew of @NBCGrimm Give Back at Oregon Food Bank”
