ParaNorman in Theaters on August 17 – We’ll Be There. What About You?

After two plus years hand crafting frame by frame, Oregon based animation studio LAIKA is set to debut their second film “ParaNorman” in theaters this coming Friday.  We at the Oregon Film Office will be at the Regal Lloyd Center theaters with a block of tickets  to celebrate the release.  In fact we hope to see you there at 11:50 AM for the first showing!  An opening weekend of any feature film often determines the financial success of the film so let’s all find a way to make it to a nearby theater and see this great Oregon Film.  Continue reading... “ParaNorman in Theaters on August 17 – We’ll Be There. Oscar-nominated filmmaker Todd Haynes donates autographed portrait to benefit The Right Brain Initiative

Nationally renowned filmmaker Todd Haynes is the subject of a one-of-a-kind portrait that posted today on eBay. This ten-day auction supports a good cause: Haynes donated the giclee print to benefit The Right Brain Initiative’s arts education programming in Portland, Oregon area schools. The print is signed by both Haynes and the portrait’s artist, Steve Cohn. Cohn is brother-in-law to Haynes, and works under the pseudonym Jasper Marks. Portlandia receives 2 Emmy Nods, Weiden + Kennedy receives 3

Come to the OMPA Classic Golf, Wine or Bike Tour this Friday

If you only get to one event for Oregon’s film and television industry this year, you should make it out to Indian Creek Golf Course in Hood River for the OMPA Classic this Friday. The event benefits the Oregon Media Production Association, an institution of Oregon’s crew, vendors, producers and actors that for 30-years has advocated for growth in Oregon’s production industry.

With Premiere of Season 5 of “Leverage” Stealing the Spruce Goose, Evergreen Aviation Museum Gets Nice Exposure

This past Wednesday I was kindly invited to attend a private sneak peak of the premiere episode of “Leverage” season 5 at the Evergreen Aviation Museum’s incredible digital theater.  In attendance was Executive Producer Dean Devlin and Co-Producer Jose Behar along with founder of Evergreen Aviation Dell Smith.  The screening was held at Evergreen because much of the first episode takes place at the museum.  The Leverage team pulls off a con to steal the legendary Howard Hughes aircraft The Spruce Goose which is housed at the Aviation Museum.  Continue reading... “With Premiere of Season 5 of “Leverage” Stealing the Spruce Goose, Evergreen Aviation Museum Gets Nice Exposure”

Cell Count accepted into the 2012 Sitges Film Festival.

PORTLAND, Oregon (July 9, 2012)  The feature film “Cell Count” premiered on May 20th at the Fantaspoa Fantastic Film Festival and is an Official Selection of this year’s Macabro Film Festival in Mexico City this August.  This week offered the Producer’s of the film an exciting third acceptance to a film festival so far this year, the Sitges Film Festival in Spain.
