Oregon creatives recognized with 2011 Emmy Nominations
As Television aficionados know, nominations for the 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards were announced this morning and amongst the nominees were several Oregon based filmmakers and companies!
HBO’s acclaimed mini-series “Mildred Pierce” was the most recognized program with 21 nominations, including Outstanding Miniseries or Movie, Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries, Movie Or A Dramatic Special for Todd Haynes and Jon Raymond – both Oregon based writers/filmmakers – and Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie Or A Dramatic Special for Todd Haynes.
Main Cast of Supernatural Thriller “Nightscape” Announced

MAIN CAST OF SUPERNATURAL THRILLER “NIGHTSCAPE” ANNOUNCED
Portland, Oregon—Writer-director David W. Edwards announced the main cast for his first feature film, Nightscape. The film stars, in alphabetical order: Emily Galesh, LaVerne Green, Joshua St. James and Jorge Madrid. The film shoots later this month in and around Portland.
In Nightscape, an emotionally guarded drifter, Kat (Galesh), crosses paths with a phantom car responsible for a wave of supernatural violence. The drifter must learn to trust again if she is to end a lifetime of bad luck and to help her newfound companions survive the growing chaos and carnage.

A First Look at Final Cut Pro X and Red Giant’s Magic Bullet Suite 11
Two presentations are in store for the July 13th meeting of the Portland Final Cut Pro User Group (PDXFCPUG). First up is a visit with Red Giant‘s recently released Magic Bullet Suite 11. Demonstrations of “Looks 2” and “Cosmo” will be given.
There has been a lot of hubbub from editors around the world since the recent release of Final Cut Pro X. Warren Shultz of RVI Media and Dean McCrea of TRL Media will present a first look at FCP X.
A Million Moments Stops in Portland
Earlier this year, Twentieth Century Fox launched A Year of a Million Moments, celebrating movies made memorable, quotable and unforgettable by the people who watch and embrace them. In addition to the online contest, polls and quizzes, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has launched a mobile van tour zigzagging across the country to 18-cities over 14-weeks with the ultimate goal of donating 1 million DVDs.
The mobile tour gives film fanatics and consumers nationwide the opportunity to recreate their favorite scenes from beloved Fox movies, filmed against a green screen.
