Grimm Doesn’t Just Look Green Because Of The Weather….

We could not have been happier when NBC Universal contacted us to collaborate on their greening efforts for the series, Grimm.  We immediately recognized this particular show as a good match and unique opportunity to put the foundation of our previous work in identifying green vendors and services to good use.

NBCUniversal’s Green Is Universal initiative has an admirable, on-going, corporate-wide environmental initiative that attempts to lessen their shows’ environmental impact by working with local resources and finding innovative ways to improve on their overall footprint.

Live (or previously recorded) from NYC it’s “Rid of Me”!!!!!

[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afPjn4S2ObY[/youtube]

Do you want to know what it takes now for independent film makers to get the word out for their film?  Check out this video.  James Westby and Katie O’Grady have taken to the streets to promote their film “Rid of Me” and I can’t sing their praises enough for the effort they’ve put forth.  The film screened earlier in the year at the Tribecca film festival and received overwhelmingly positive reveiws.  From that they secured a distribution deal for the film through Phase 4 films

A Little More About “Population: 2”

A dead world, a woman surviving alone, and the coffin she brings back every evening to her home.

These are the elements that make up Population: 2, an all-Oregon project that filmed in 2010 and is screening December 8th, 2011, at the Bagdad theater.  The information for getting free tickets to the event is in a recent Confluence blog post, but unfortunately the post was a little garbled due to a browser incompatibility.  For that reason, I’ll be reposting the information here.

[vimeo]http://vimeo.com/13953680[/vimeo]

I am very excited to extend a special invitation to the private, one time screening of the feature film, “Population: 2”.   The screening will take place on Thursday, December 8th, 7:30p.m. (theater doors open at 6pm) at the Baghdad Theater in Portland Oregon. I was a writer and producer on the film, and had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with Kenneth Luba of golightlyfilms as Director of Photography and Gil Luna of Moon Tribe Studios as writer/director.

Hollywood Theatre Receives 600 Donated Seats

In a bold move to increase the comfort level of thousands of patrons in Portland, Oregon, the Hollywood Theatre is rolling out an aggressive, new ergonomic stimulus package called “Creature Comforts”.

The Hollywood Theatre, long recognized as a historic landmark in the centrally located Hollywood neighborhood of Portland, is the recent beneficiary of ergonomic stimulus aid from Regal Cinemas, a national movie theatre chain, in the form of 600 “gently used” seats for its three auditoriums.

Like many stimulus packages, this generous gift of seats (a $100,000 value if the theatre were to try to buy them on their own) comes with a local matching component.

“MIND ZONE” Compelling New Portland Doc Nears Completion

[vimeo]http://www.vimeo.com/29754858[/vimeo]

Jan Haaken, a Portland clinical psychologist, professor and the filmmaker behind the documentaries “Guilty Except for Insanity,” “Moving 2 the Beat” and “Queens of Heart,” has wrapped up filming on her latest feature-length doc. In “MINDZONE: Therapists Behind the Front Lines,” Haaken got extraordinary access to an Army Combat Stress Control Unit while they trained, ultimately following them to Afghanistan in order to investigate the role of psychologists in war zones and the ethical issues they wrestle with.
