Great Behind the Scenes Film of “Portlandia”

IFC is looking to go bigger and better with season 2 of “Portlandia” and this behind the scenes film is an indication of what we’re going to see in January.  I do think the coolest part of this show is that above all it’s a show being made by great friends.  The friendship shines through in this piece.  Another key element is Jonathan Krisel – the Director and Writer.  I will not be surprised to see Jonathan rise up the ranks and become even more successful than he already is.

“Grimm” Gets a Full Season Order – And a Shot at Thursday Night

News came out late on Monday that the Portland based NBC drama “Grimm” has been picked up for a full season order with another nine episodes.  The news was picked up and spread through Twitter but it looks like the original announcement came on the Entertainment Weekly Site here.

NBC Entertainment President Robert Greenblatt said

“This series is turning the traditional procedural drama on its head and is attracting a loyal following for us on Friday nights. We love where it’s going creatively and we’re excited to deliver more episodes to our audience.”

“Gone” Trailer Available – Starring Amanda Seyfried – Shot in Oregon

It doesn’t take long to notice in the trailer that “Gone” was shot in Oregon (lot’s of Portland Police cars).  The film was shot here last spring right after the production of the pilot for “Grimm”.  From everything we heard, the production went very smoothly.  If you’re familiar with Portland at all you’ll notice some familiar locations.  Several scenes were shot in the industrial part of inner SE Portland just a few blocks from our office.  The film also used the exterior of the empty U.S.

“Portlandia” Live Tour Announced – Tickets Go On Sale November 22

Today IFC announced a six city tour for a live “Portlandia” show. It’s a natural addition to this budding franchise.  Today’s announcement mentioned that the live show will include special sneak peaks to season 2 as well as behind the scenes stories about the creation of the characters in the show.  Given Fred and Carrie’s rich musical background let’s hope they throw a song or two in there as well!

The tour begins in Portland (of course) on December 27 with stops in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and finally New York (2 shows).
