2015 POWFest Call-For-Entries!

The Portland Oregon Women’s Film Festival (POWFest) is now accepting entries for its eighth annual festival scheduled to take place March 12 – 15, 2015. The regular deadline for entries is Friday, August 15, 2015. POWFest places a spotlight on women directors by showcasing their work and empowering the community of women in film. POWFest encourages women to find their voice and to share their stories through innovative and quality filmmaking. We feature the work of today’s top women directors, honoring the true pioneers while providing support and recognition for the next generation of leading women filmmakers.

Exciting Casting Opportunity for Lead in Columbia’s “Little House on the Prairie”

“Night Moves” To Get A May 30th Release

Jesse Eisenberger ("The Social Network") and Alia Shawkat ("Arrested Development") on Kelly Reichardt's "Night Moves" set in Southern Oregon. — Jesse Eisenberger (“The Social Network”) and Alia Shawkat (“Arrested Development”) on Kelly Reichardt’s “Night Moves” set in Southern Oregon.

“Night Moves” will be opening May 30th at the Angelika Film Center in New York, most likely followed by openings in Los Angeles and Portland before playing other cities nationwide.

The film will also be screening in advance of the release date, at the Tribeca Film Festival (April 21st, 24th and 27th), as well as at a few other U.S. festivals.

“Night Moves” was shot exclusively in Southern Oregon.

VFX/PDX User Group Meeting Today – W+K, Mocha & Nuke!

Heads up that VFX/PDX, the local visual effects artist user group, has a meeting on tap for today (April 17) featuring David Jahns of Joint Editorial, Wieden and Kennedy’s in-house post production facility. He’ll be showing off the editing software Smoke from Autodesk and his workflow for the great work coming out of Joint.

Also we have Mary Poplin from Imagineer flying in to demo the popular tracking software Mocha, which won a Sci-Tech Oscar last year and is nothing short of amazing.
