CW’s TV Comedy, “Significant Mother” to Shoot Series in Portland

Josh ZuckermanAlloy Entertainment, and CW‘s “Significant Mother“, is set to shoot in the Portland area late spring and will air in August.  The series shot three digital episodes for The CW Seed last year, and now has upped the series to TV.  The show will star Josh Zuckerman (“Desperate Housewives”, “90210”), Krista Allen (“What About Brian”), Jonathan Silverman (“Weekend at Bernie’s”), Emma Fitzpatrick (“The Social Network”) and Jay Ali (“The Fosters”). The Oregon Film Annual Governor’s Awards

There was a big turnout at the Eastside Exchange Ballroom last night for the Oregon Film’s Annual Governor’s Awards. Kicking off the event was Gordon Sondland (Oregon Film Board Chair, founder and chairman of Provenance Hotels, and co-founder of the merchant bank Aspen Capital) who introduced the evening and then actor Russell Hornsby (“Grimm“), who then declared himself now a Portland local! TNT and Electrics’, “The Librarians” Opened Strong

TNT’s new drama series, “The Librarians”, (a follow up to the movie trilogy, “The Librarian”) delivered 5.4 million viewers for the two hour premiere in December. TNT and Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment are no strangers to Oregon, having shot all but one season of “Leverage” here.  Many locations in the Portland metro area, Clackamas county and even the Captiol building in Salem were used in season one.

BENT Goes “Over the Garden Wall” for Cartoon Network

Portland, Or – Animation studio BENT Image Lab conjures up a series of whimsical storybook promos for Cartoon Network’s “Over the Garden Wall”. Directed by BENT’s Solomon Burbridge, the promos bury the viewer deep inside the beautiful CG/stop-motion pages of a forest-woven book, seamlessly transitioning to clips from the show.

“I wanted to take the well worn old trope of ‘from the vaults’ or ‘magic book opening’ and add a new twist to it,” says Burbridge. “The idea of an infinite tunnel book was a great way to further this idea by giving the interior pages dimension and atmosphere. Congratulations Nathan Cherrington and his wife, Lisa, The Governators, who trounced all comers at the 5-hour croquet tournament of the OMPA Classic powered by Zarr Studios. The Governators, representing the Oregon Governor’s Office of Film and Television, upset Barefoot Bullseyes Signa Cheney and Curtis Kidwell of Bullseye Disc, who were in fact as barefoot as they advertised. Annual OMPA Classic Raises Money for Media Arts Scholarships with Golf and Croquet

Golf, croquet and a great party are on the table for the Oregon Media Production Association’s annual tournament and fundraiser next Friday, July 11. Mt. Hood serves as the backdrop for this full day of fun, sportsmanship and stewardship of Oregon’s burgeoning media production field. The event is sponsored by production houses and vendors to Oregon’s thriving media production industry, including title sponsor Zarr Studios.
