New Fight Performance Classes

This Saturday starts a new block of fight classes to kick off 2013!

The first block of classes is Stick & Weapons of Opportunity. This class is a fantastic intro to weapons work that will open your eyes to a plethora of possibilities. The basis of this class is in Filipino escrima and kali, and we’ll explore how this kind of fight work plays on film and television. Oregon made feature film Cell Count now available on VOD.

PORTLAND, Oregon (December 20th, 2012)  The feature film “Cell Count” made it’s World Premiere at this year’s Fantaspoa Film Festival in Brazil on May 20th.  Since then it has gone to the Macabro Film Festival in Mexico, the Montreal HorrorFest in Canada, Sitges Film Festival in Spain, Rojo Sangre Film Festival in Argentina, Montevideo Fantastico Film Festival in Uruguay, Another Hole in the Head Film Festival in the USA, and Celluloid Screams in the UK.  Director Todd E. UPDATED AGAIN- Series Finale of “Leverage” Airs on Christmas Night 10:00 PST What Surprises are Coming?

UPDATED AGAIN – It was just announced that after five great seasons (four in Oregon) “Leverage” is coming to an end on Christmas night.  We’ve been so blessed to have four great seasons in Oregon and we look forward to future TNT and Electric Entertainment productions in the future.  For now though, we’ll look to enjoy the series finale on Christmas night.

“Portlandia” Starts Season 3 on January 4 – But Lots of Goodies to See Now

NW Film Center School of Film: Winter Classes begin in January

Join other artists, creators, communicators, business professionals, and explorers, who want to hone and develop their skills in filmmaking.

Winter classes begin with a $10 Super Saturday Workshops on January 5, which includes Avid for Final Cut Users and Sound Doctor. Core & topic classes begin January 14 and include Art of Film I, Screenwriting Intensive, and Video Production in the Workplace.

Portland Represents at Art Basel Miami

From December 6th  – 9th, Kimberly Warner’s short film ‘CPR’, will be representing Portland at Art Basel Miami.

CPR, written and directed by Portland’s Kimberly Warner and co-produced by Kimberly and Matt Schulte, will be part of a program called “LIght Assembly”…the goal of Light Assembly is “to combine large-scale video art projection with the citywide canvas of Miami Beach and mainland Miami’s modern architectural marvels and historic landmarks”.

Happy Holidays from Limbo Films!

My what a busy year 2012 turned out to be! We produced spots for Mead Notebooks, Ikea, Intel, Kent State University, Cadet Heating, Leatherman Tools, and the Portland Trail Blazers.

Once the creatives at New York agency Ryan Partners gave Limbo Films the green light on a national spot for Five Star/Mead Notebooks our first task was setting the excellent trainers from Boones Animals in Hollywood to work. For 2 weeks prior to our Santa Monica based shoot they trained 4 hero and 4 back-up pooches to do the tricks required by the script and all their work paid off. The NW Film Center & Project Viewfinder: From the Streets to the Screen

 

Without question, those of us creatively engaged in the local film scene are blessed to be able to participate in our growing industry.  As we head into the holiday giving season, the NW Film Center would love to encourage OMPA members to become acquainted with a new program we’re developing to help those without a voice tell their stories through the medium of film.
